ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Thousands of people are reacting to a Facebook post from Asheville police showing a “threatening” email the department received shortly before the July 4 holiday.
**SNIP**
Dear Asheville Police Department,
We are tired of your lack of protection for the innocent civilians who are peacefully protesting. There have been multiple incidents where there have been immediate threats to the safety, security, and well being of the protesters, with Asheville Police Department having little to no response time. Due to the lack of safety and security provided by the Asheville Police Department, citizens have had to protect and deputize themselves. If Asheville Police Department does not ensure the safety of the protesters, then we, ANTIFA, will, at all costs. The ball is in your court. Here is your chance to show the city that you are the heroes you claim to be. If you fail to meet our demands, then we, ANTIFA, will continue our own ways and methods to keep the good people of this city safe. We will no longer put up with your oppression in ANY FORM. Due to your lack of safety and support, you have forced us to do your jobs for you. We will NOT allow you to tell us that what we are doing is wrong. If safety is what you truly want, then you will shape up and do your jobs correctly. This includes keeping peaceful protesters safe, whether they are armed or unarmed. If you continue to fail to protect protesters, we will continue to successfully do so. If you continue to harass us for doing so, you will be met with further action. This is your first and ONLY formal warning.
Sincerely,
ANTIFA

Peaceful protesting?
Aren’t emails really easy to trace and impossible to delete?
Daley of Chicago, would have sent in his cops to beat hell out these antifa punks.
Protection from whom? From people trying to prevent their property from being destroyed by these protestors?
Sounds like a preemptive strike to give them cover. They can now justify any violence they do as “keeping the peace”.
Its Asheville, the cops will comply.
Exactly
Ashville, NC: Leftist DEM cesspool and long has been.
ANTIFA knows this; thus, feels they can just ‘push’ them around, methinks.
Yep. Democrats run Asheville and AntiFa are their Brown Shirts
“Aren’t emails really easy to trace and impossible to delete?”
Well, yes and no. If you wanted to send an anomous email you could go to almost any library, sign on to their public computers and set up an email account. Send the email and then never use the account again.
I’m sure there are other ways to do it but that one springs to mind. I’m not sure whether email accounts carry any information like your IP address.
AVL police department has been reduced by a third, and now ANTIFA complains about a lack of protection, that’s really rich. The city has always been known for it’s freakazoid and eclectic people but is very safe. AVL always has had demonstrations, they are peaceful, small and except for the preachers with bullhorns not annoying. The big money investors, and the tourist industry are not going let AVL become another s@#& hole. They are rehiring police, but not because of ANTIFA.
Asheville is a woke joke. Probably go the way of Portland. Biden them.
Having been there recently, I can say that it's about 9/10ths of the way there.
I lived in Asheville in the 70’s, just as the ‘art community’ was discovering what a wonderful city it was. But with its climate and location in the mountains, it was too good to last. Way too many Priuses and not enough pickups.
Yep.
Those ball-less, soy boy, liberal, granola mouth breathers have destroyed beautiful Asheville.
Why would any self-respecting anarchist by crying for police protection? Crimes committed while “protesting” are still crimes..
Ashville is great for breweries.
That’s about it.
Have there been protests in Asheville?
Emails can be traced down to the computer that sent them. Yes it also carries the IP address. From an in-depth search you can figure out which routers it went through to get to its location.
In short yes it can be back traced to a sender. Even if from a public library, there are probably surveillance cameras.
