Kamala refuses to say if SCOTUS judges should be impeached for misleading Congress about their views on abortion

Vice President Kamala Harris says that congress needs to act and pass a law guaranteeing abortion rights to American women.

In an interview with CBS News' Robert Costa, Harris said that women have been stripped of a 'constitutional right' following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v Wade.

Harris said: 'I think all of us share a deep sense of outrage that the United States Supreme Court took a constitutional right that was recognized, took it from the women of America.'

The vice president continued: 'We are now looking at a case where the government can interfere in what is one of the most intimate and private decisions that someone can make.'

The interview will air on CBS's 'Face the Nation' this Sunday.

On Friday, President Joe Biden signed an executive order designed to help women travel to states where abortions are legal as well as expanding access to abortion pills through the Department of Health and Human Services.

Harris said: 'We also need Congress to act because that branch of government is where we actually codify, which means put into law, the rights that again, we took for granted, but clearly have now been taken from the women of America.'

She obviously didn’t bother to read or understand the ruling.

This statement “ Harris said that women have been stripped of a ‘constitutional right’ following the Supreme Court’s decision “ is so off base.

The ruling was about the law. And the lack of good law in the precedent.

Vice President Kamala Harris says that congress needs to act and pass a law guaranteeing abortion rights to American women.

Didn’t the Supreme Court just rule that it is none of the Federal Government’s business? Any law they would pass would be un- constitutional.

But that point is moot since the Democrats will not be in any position to pass such a law in the near future.

So what we have have here is nothing more then empty promises to the sheep that vote for Democrats.

If Congress passed a law codifying the principles of Roe, it would be challenged in court. Whether it would be ruled unconstitutional is an open question. A federal law saying that the people are be free to exercise their right to secure abortions as ‘health care’ at will and not be restrained by any state, would start with four votes in approval. If arguments swayed one more, like Roberts eg, then Roe would be the legislated law.

I don’t see such a law being passed through the Senate, but I don’t think it is out of the question given the right electoral outcome.

It has been a long standing tenet of the left that no litmus test questions are allowed for a USSC Nominee.

I would like to hear her attempt to point out the exact words in the Constitution that allegedly give women that right. She can’t use the “I’m not a lawyer” excuse.

I would think the most intimate and private part would be the act that created the baby!!!

I've read that RBG disagreed with the Roe decision. If that's true I would think that she put her opposition in writing...or,if her views were spoken, that somebody quoted her in writing.

If she was opposed...and there's a clear record of it...those views should be shouted from the mountain tops!

Yet, they forced us to take shots we didn’t want and denied potentially lifesaving Covid care by prohibiting (and this has never been done before) Hydroxychloriquone abd Ivermectin from being prescribed even to people who already had prescriptions for illnesses like Lupus (many take Hydroxychloiquine).

I hate to break it to people, but this decision was not a victory.

Are we really supposed to believe that the same SCOTUS that enabled Deep State to end the republic gives a rat’s a$$ about the unborn?

Deep State controls the SCOTUS.

And Deep State is blackmailing wayward Dem pro-choice voters: Keep voting for our candidates or we won’t fix this.

And if they don’t, this decision gives cover for another steal.

How about we restore the republic before we deal with abortion.

If we don’t get our republic back, everyone will be in danger, including the unborn.

First I am not sure the Democrat want to pass such a law. The abortion issue is one they use as a fund raiser so for them it is best left in doubt.

Second problem for the Democrats they are running out of time. They will soon be taking a break so those running for re-election can return home to campaign.

Last is that the American people are tired of the argument, there are more important issues they want Congress to address (like getting rid of Biden)

It’s won in my country, Kentucky. A rogue judge is temporarily trying to stop it, but it’ll be fine.

“I hate to break it to people, but this decision was not a victory.”

Politically, I agree with you. It is going to be a hot button issue for every state which will be far more manageable in targeting local campaigns and elections. The pro-choice crowd will have a louder voice, having to reach fewer voters. Nothing will change.
