Sadly our governor, Governor Abbot, has proven himself to be a calculating, not a principled, politician when it comes to border security. He announces "bold" action which sounds good in sound bites but turns out to be ineffectual. The same goes for his latest. As some have said , it is nothing more than catch and release, only catch in one place and release at the border. Time to declare an invasion, Governor. Then return to Mexico and places south.
I have to heartily agree. This is why I voted for Allen West in the primary. Too bad that more failed to do so. Now, more than ever we need a real warrior in the Governor’s office.
Agree also, and I voted for West in the primary and was very disappointed that he didn’t win. We need firm, dramatic, intense action. Abbott is incapable of doing any of that.
we also need to focus on repealing/replacing the property taxes in Texas.
We have some of the highest in the Nation.
This year, mine went up 80%. My land taxes 420%. The appraisals have no basis in reality. I was told at our appeal essentially that THEY determine the market value, even though I presented properties all around me that were twice as nice and big, at half my valuation. They are just not picking on me, my whole neighborhood is hit with the same crazy appraisals.
The key question is which side of the border is he releasing on?
If it really is, as he claims, an invasion of Texas, Gov. Abbott needs to stop it with extreme force, even if it results in some invaders being killed.

Yep, he’s just taking them from wherever they cross to the border checkpoints but on the US side. That means they’ll just get processed and released in the US.
Trump is the only politician ever to actually try and secure the border.

Abbot is Pence. A deep state coward. He is only doing the little he is doing because of the election. Biden is threatening to shut down one of the biggest energy sources in the country and Abbot responds by sending a letter.
And the people got rid of him, pronto. They said, “WE want Lying Joe, He is just as degenerate as we are. We can relate to him.” It was done. And America has prospered ever since. Running full throttle down the Road of Destruction.
Abbott was the cause of me being treated like a criminal by police in 2020 because I refused to wear a mask.
Bush League Republicans specialize in making useless gestures, while assisting the Democrats importing a permanent Democrat majority.
I voted for West too, Abbott is a disgrace.
Yes, he is a poseur and is doing this to look “tough on border security”. It’s probably working. The local Houston news people this morning was discussing it in their “deeply concerned” voices.
I thought we had a law that limited appraisal increases to no more then 10% per year. I when from 130k to 285k a couple of years ago. Galveston County is trying to drive all the long time residents off their properties so it (GC) can replace them with rich people.
Gov Abbott is not going to do jack. He's all talk and no action. Screw him, I'm tempted to vote D just to get rid of Abbott.
