Now Brazil is mourning her loss. Correia, who was crowned Miss Costa do Sol and Miss United Continents Brazil in 2018, died Monday at 27 of kidney failure. She never recovered consciousness.

Someone I know quite well nearly bled out from a tonsillectomy. Doctors had to cauterize the wound to stop the bleeding and in the process touched what basically was a glorified soldering iron to this person’s lower lip. Left one hell of a brand.
Your poor friend...but afaik, a post-operatic haemorrage after a tonsillectomy is still something which carries a significant risk.
I remember that there had been two deaths in Austria in the early 2000s due to complications from tonsillectomy. There were reports in the media then.
And may God rest the soul of the victim.
P.S.: sorry, I meant both Ms Correya and the others who died.
Hmmm..my guess would be that quite a few doctors make reasonably good money with those operations ;-)
However, my wisdom teeth had to be extracted because they were pushing all my other teeth forward; obviously my alveolas happen to be too short to accomodate a full set of sixteen teeth to every jaw.
I stand corrected.
