Lia Thomas, the transgender swimmer who smashed women's records this year, will be banned from competing against biological women in international events after the world swimming's governing body announced on Sunday that it is barring transgender athletes who went through male puberty.

FINA, the international federation sports federation for swimming, announced on Sunday that it is changing its policies so that transgender women can only compete in the organization's women's races if they have completed their transition by the age of 12.

They will then have to prove to the federation that they have continuously suppressed their testosterone levels since that time.

At first I thought this was a glimmer of sanity but they’re actually endorsing “transitions “ before the onset of puberty at age 12, which is, if possible, an even worse abomination.

My thoughts exactly, there is nothing to stop a bad nation (like China) from forcing these transitions on young boys in order to win medals when they are older.

The girls simply have to find a new game to play, if they don’t like the rules of the game they are playing.

If those sponsoring a game for girls to play, change the rules to allow boys to play, the sponsors may have a tough time with only a boy or two, wanting to participate in their game.

Considering the state the courts are in, worldwide, this is probably the best that could be hoped for. It does make an exception for the freaks to have their own category, but it sets strict limits as to who/what qualifies for that category. It creates a separate division so they can’t be accused of denying “trans athletes” the opportunity to compete in a competitive setting.
This is actually set up to survive a court case while still, somewhat, following science.
It stipulates that “transgender women can only compete in the organization’s women’s races if they have completed their transition by the age of 12.”
Completion of transition means not only having gone through puberty at the proper hormone levels for females but also having had all surgeries finished by age 12.

That is a major roadblock to the idiots like this “Lia Thomas” who can’t compete in the men’s division and claim to be transgender in order to clean up in the women’s division.

Sooner or later attention seeking parents are going to have their kids undergoing hormone replacement at younger ages in order to qualify for the new open division. That will be another battle for another day.

If there are going to be separate categories for male and female, then they must choose a bright line between the two.

I suggest that if 99.9+ percent of your cells are XX, then you are a female, and if 99.9+ percent of your cells are XY, then you are male. Any other chromosomal arrangement and you do not qualify as either. There are a lot of cases where the chromosomes are messed up through no fault of the person, but the bright line must be set and respected. Sorry.
