Eight dads are sharing how abortion has helped them become the fathers they are today, on what experts believe will likely be the last Father's Day before the Supreme Court issues a ruling that would overturn Roe v Wade.
In May, a leaked draft of a Supreme Court opinion on the Mississippi 15-week abortion ban indicated the Court is poised to overturn Roe v Wade, the 1971 Supreme Court decision that established the constitutional right to abortion care.
The draft is not a formal decision and the court has not ruled on the Mississippi 15-week abortion ban. Abortion is still legal in all 50 states.
Most pregnant people who have abortions already have at least one child, according to CDC data.
And while 85% of people who have abortions are not married, according to data from the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion research organization, nearly half had been in a relationship for a year or more with the person who impregnated them.
Before Father's Day, TODAY Parents spoke to eight dads who responded to a call-out on social media asking fathers to share how abortion shaped their lives. The men were given permission from their current partners to disclose their abortions and other personal medical information. Their last names have been withheld to protect their families’ privacy, and their comments have been edited for brevity and clarity.

My husband’s ex shrew had an abortion to abort his child and didn’t tell him about it. This was before they had their first child. It haunts him to this day.

My wife was having an affair and became pregnant with my child, all unbeknownst to me. We already had a 1 year-old son. She secretly went and had the baby aborted because she didn’t want it to impact her cheating.

That’s a tragic and appalling. But at least your son has one good parent. Prayers for him and you. There’s a movie called “Nocturnal Animals” that has a plot line similar to your life (and it got blowback from the pro-abortion crowd, shocked that popular actors like Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams would appear in an arguably anti-abortion film).
Plenty of guys love abortion because it allows them to have unprotected sex and then shrug off the consequences by just telling her to kill the baby.

That was about as far as I could get. Barf, indeed. As if people can't keep their pants on and if they can't then use protection. Simple concept. Otherwise, they are murderers.
