Nolte: Biden’s Computer Chip Shortage Kills ‘Solution’ for Biden’s Record Gas Prices

Joe Biden’s computer chip shortage has killed off one proposed White House solution (if you want to call it that) for people suffering under Joe Biden’s record gas prices.

His Fraudulency Joe Biden deliberately caused these record gas prices with an executive order that killed domestic oil and gas expansion and exploration. But now that his approval ratings are in the dumpster, the White House thought one “solution” to this might be to offer Americans free money in the form of gasoline rebate cards. There’s just one problem… Those cards would require a computer chip, and along with all the other shortages this administration has caused (everything from baby formula to tampons), we also have a computer chip shortage.

Do you know how these work?

I don’t, but I have always guessed that the chip game needs to be looked as two separate games - fast chips and slow chips. Cars mostly need slow chips unless you want to do something fancy like self-driving cars.

America has a monopoly on fast chips, these are high margin and others can’t copy them, but cars don’t need a lot of these fast chips. They need low margin slow chips.

Had a ‘71 Plymouth Duster with the slant-6, and it definitely had ignition points.

Picked it up and started to drive it. Not too long later, it started to run poorly and miss. Turned out that the factory had forgotten to lubricate the rotor in the distributor and the follower wore down.

I remember when a set of points came with a little dab of grease for the distributor cam that the rotor was pushed down on. The points rode on those greased cam lobes. Replaced a whole lot of “points and condenser, plugs, cap, rotor, …….”

I sure do. Even old beaters are out of my price range.

Actually, I’d like another VW somewhere in the 1967-1971 range. People are asking insane prices for anything drivable, though.

I think they are but that is 17 cents. Do you really think 17 cents is going to help you? Even your state tax on gas will not help with the way the cost of living has gone up so much.

It is to late.

And yes EV’s take chips and the stupid idiots in Washington just made up a bunch of laws before investigating if going green was feasible. Let along if the Country could run without anymore gas. They did not do a feasibility study on that either when they shut down the pipelines and drilling.

So all the babbling how much EV’s will make our lives better was just that Babbling.

In the business world you would have people researching this for years before proposing it.
