Canada Shows Us How Close America is to Total Gun Confiscation
The left has no intention of taking guns from violent criminals.
Confiscation is a lot harder to do than pass illegal gun laws.

We need to emphasize the matter of individual rights:
Our constitution clarifies the government MAY NOT simply declare a denial of rights without individual adjudication.
Making fifty million law-abiding citizens into felons by decree, having done absolutely nothing, simply gives them cause to respond with violence.
To wit, “ban guns” is simply a legal non-starter.
Confiscations may not happen. Seen NOLA confiscation attempt.
Ending sales may not happen. Red tape may be piled on, but the right to own includes right to obtain.
922(o) is the only true “ban”, and any attempt to expand it to cover more than full-auto WILL result in a successful overturn challenge.
NFA is a speed bump, which will get razed if an “in common use” gun is added to it.

Confiscation isn’t their goal- their goal is to confiscate on individual basis as cops search homes and find “illegal guns” with which to arrest the hk earners on causing them to become e felons who can never own guns again. They know mass co fiscation will be met with resistance, but individual confiscation will not unless the homeowner decides to take a stand individually. (Of course if the owner does, they Wil. Be exterminated and labeled a “radical do estic terrorists” as the gubmint “finds” al. Kinds of incriminating evidence after the fact ie “homeowner had multiple guns, loads of ammo, frequented known right wing websites, was known to day things that opposed govenrment” etc etc etc).

Note that Canada has the next-highest gun ownership rate for a first-world country (beat out in the all-countries list by Falkland Islands, Yemen, New Caledonia, Montenegro, and Serbia). We have 120 guns per 100 citizens, Canada has 34 per 100.
As such, gun bans in Canada may not go as well as expected. Remember that much of the population is self-disarmed living in urban centers ... meaning guns are concentrated in more rural locations, a survival necessity which & where people will simply obtain as needed by whatever means, and will respond uncooperatively to attempts to deny them that survival tool.
Notice that Trudeau declared a “freeze”, not a ban. Confiscations won’t follow, for the same reason they won’t here. Those who need them will get them, as an existential issue.
Trudeau may have reached beyond his grasp. He’s not competent enough to act as dictator, which is the realm he’s proceeding into. Hopefully he will leave power soon, and saner heads prevail to return rights. Canadians may be notoriously polite & compliant, but (as I personally know well) they can also turn vicious when unduly crossed.
