Plus it’s probably a $3,000 weekend for a family of five visiting from out of town. Ugh!

I took my kids and wife to Disneyworld for four days in 2017 and it was more expensive than my daughter and I going backpacking all through Japan the same year for a month.

I recommend the Ark Encounter/Creation Museum for an economical/educational/fun-packed family vacation.

I’ve heard of some changes at Disney which are unpopular.
1. You have to book a reservation online for particular days to go visit. And that this is a separate process from actually buying tickets to enter. The days of just going to Disney and visiting on the spur of the moment, appear to be past.
2. They have set up this “Disney Genie” system to use on a cellular phone, which is used to schedule times you can visit popular attractions during your visit. But from what I hear, it causes many to be staring at a cellular phone all day long, to try to get the most out of your Disney day, rather than being able to just relax and enjoy the day.
Naturally, those who are very skilled at manipulating the app on the cellular phone see no problems with this. But it seems to create situations in which you can’t just walk up to certain attractions and wait in line. You are expected to have used the Disney Genie app to schedule your time there.

The lack of service may be related to what has happened with military recruiting. Both organizations previously appealed to traditional values, and to those who hold them. By making this turn to the left, and the "diversity, equity, inclusion" leftist view, they've alienated their primary recruiting base. In the case of the military, that leaves them short of recruits. For Disney, it means the more conscientious, conservative kids are being replaced by typical workers, and it shows.
A new President may be able to have some impact on the perception of the military, but I don't think Disney's trajectory can be changed. They're on the low, slow road to skid row.

Eventually the Disney brand will follow the footsteps of Howard Johnson’s. Little Black Sambo’s and Farrells Ice Cream Parlor. Mostly because young people today aren’t going to pick up trash or realize their job is to do whatever it takes to ACCOMMODATE guests. It’s beneath them - especially when it comes to heterosexual Caucasians and their families.

You mean people are less than enthused about spending tens of thousands of dollars to get bombarded by the same agenda-driven alternate reality they can get from any one of hundreds of mass media outlets free of charge?

Disney owes me some $$ so I have one final trip (to Disneyland) planned for 2023. I’ve been going every year since my first child was 3 in 2000; my last child will be a senior in high school next year so it will be our last family trip.
End of an era. I think we’re stopping at just the right time. . .

Went in 2005. Hot. Good service.
Went in 2010. Hot So-so service.
Went in 2015. Hot. Lousy service.
Never been back.
