Obi-Wan Kenobi writer Joby Harold recently discussed the latest Disney+ Star Wars show and appeared to reveal that he had no idea that Kenobi knew that Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader.
Speaking with TheWrap, Harold revealed he didn’t originally pitch Kenobi not knowing that Darth Vader survived their battle.
He said, “That was actually not something I pitched originally. That was something I discovered along the way, and sort of had to confirm with Pablo [Hidalgo] and really think, ‘Hold on a second, what does he actually know?'”
From there, Harold listed off a string of questions with one of them implying he and the team at Lucasfilm working on this show do not realize that Obi-Wan Kenobi knows that Anakin Skywalker is Darth Vader.
He questioned, “‘Does he know the moniker Vader? What would that mean? Can he associate the two? What was he cognizant of? How isolated is he? Where’s Vader at that time? Where’s his reputation and how well known is he?’ and all those pieces of the puzzle.”

So in other words, he’s a normal person?
I get what you mean. :-)
But, if you are going to write something about an established storyline, the basic starting point is to know what that story is. I guess luckily for this series, based on the comments here reacting to this article, a lot of people who watch Star Wars are passive and don’t pay any attention to the storyline or dialog.
Nah, dude, I’m just referring to Leia from episode 4 of Obi Wan, reaching up and taking his hand at the end, vice the Princess Leia not being at all concerned she just saw the SAME guy hacked down by Vader.
It’s like they’re nullifying her character from A New Hope.
Okay, I gotcha. I guess that would be just another thing they got wrong.
I was just posting that in reference to the fact everything in the post you were responding to wasn’t accurate.
Yoda told Kenobi, but Kenobi also saw it in the security footage of the Emperor calling him that as well prior to that conversation.
NO understanding of CANON. And yes, all check boxes, retcons, and deconstruction of past heroes.
“Not the point of the article, but Pablo is always one degree of separation with SW related disasters.”
This is sooooo true.
I stand corrected.
Okay, you are right. I forgot about that particular detail.
The plan by these hollywood writers and producers is to destroy what was good.

Not surprised at all.
I hope Disney goes bankrupt and has to sell LucasFilm in the bankruptcy sale and whoever buys it declares all of Disney Star Wars material to be non-canon (except Rogue One - that one actually was actually well done and consistent with canon - how’d they let that one slip through).
The series is crap. Not a pimple on the butt of The Mandelorian or The Book of Boba Fett. Boring story line and actors hired for their Woke-ness giving 3rd rate performances.
Watched part of that second video - remarkably awful scene. Not just stylistically that Obi-Wan would go running, but the fact that it is clear from the dialog in Episode 4 that they had not seen each other since their last confrontation in Episode 3 - “we meet again at last...when I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master.” Then there is the other dialog before that where Vader talks with Tarkin and it was a mystery if Obi-Wan was the one that was still alive - Tarkin questioning Vader’s sensing of Obi-Wan’s presence - even Vader’s comment “I sense something...a presence I have not felt since...”. The Disney writers have zero respect for this IP that they purchased and they may be making a lot of money off of this garbage, but far less than they would with an inkling of respect for the material.
Like I said above, I hope they go bankrupt and a benevolent billionaire busy Lucasfilm and declares all of Disney Star Wars (sans Rogue One and maybe a very few other things) to be non-canon.
Beware, there is a Dark Force at Disney.
Missed posting a couple of these in the prior post.
Anakin becomes Darth Vader "Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth Vader."
Darth Vader Arrives on Mustafar and Kills The Separatist Leaders "Welcome, Lord Vader, we have been expecting you."
Obi-Wan Learns the Terrible Truth (Obi-Wan viewing security footage) Emperor: "Now, Lord Vader go and bring peace to the Empire." and Yoda (to Obi-Wan): "The boy you trained, gone he is, consumed by Darth Vader."
Yoda confronts Emperor Emperor (to Yoda): "You will not stop me, Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us!"
The contradiction to canon is even more clear when you recall the dialog of her recording to Obi-Wan where she opens with an explanation about him having served her father in the Clone Wars - had they met before like they do in this show, that would make no sense for her to say. It’s clear they had never met (other than when she was an infant which she would not have remembered). It is also clear from the dialog of this recording that while Senator Bail Organa would have known where Obi-Wan was since Leia knew where to find him, based on this dialog, they had not been in contact since they separated.
