Sigmund Freud's last surviving granddaughter died at the age of 97. Freud is considered the founder of psychoanalysis and one of the most important and influential scientists of the 20th century.
"I'm very skeptical about much of psychoanalysis," she once told the Boston Globe.
"I think that's such a narcissistic treat that I can't believe in it."

When I read this story, I thought about Chesa Boudin(thrown out SF DA), and about his criminal mom and dad issues.
Another 20th century demon who did untold damage to millions of people.
At first someone said she may have died from a fall.
But it was a Freudian Slip.
Ya . . . well . . . Sophie Freud id no more.
So true, continuing the philosophical/ideological carnage into the 20th century in an unbroken legacy from the 19th century demons who got the ball rolling in undermining civilization - Hegel, Marx and Nietzche.
An excellent non-hagiographic biography is “Freud: The Making of an Illusion” by Frederick Crews. Freud’s entire destructive career seems to have been the result of his own many psychological problems and hangups.
You sir.....are a funny man!
“Freud is considered the founder of psychoanalysis and one of the most important and influential scientists of the 20th century.”
True he is influential. He developed a destructive “therapy” in which about 1/3 of the patients commit suicide while the practitioners rake in the $. Psychoanalysis is a flim-flam and it practitioners are charlatans.
Most of Freud’s theories have been disavowed as nonsense.
Jung had his number early on. He thought Freud was neurotic.
Oddly, Hitler, Trotsky, Tito, Stalin and Freud all lived in Vienna in 1913.
I was always a Jungian myself, and was fascinated by his theory of the collective unconscious.
“Freud like it or not was one of the most influential persons of the 20th century.”
Like his nephew Edward Bernays.
I understand she was still receiving active therapy.
And his studies in mythologies, and the persistent influence of those archetypes and their symbology.
Meanings that we aren’t even consciously aware of understanding crop up in dreams.
Which stage is your anima?
Behaviorial Science, isn’t.
What is the difference between a Jungian and a Freudian.
I know, I'm a rube, just asking a question.
It's long been said the most mentally screwed up people go into the field to try to figure why they're screwed up. They end up screwing up others as a result.
Exactly.
