Ryan from Fortnine is one of the best bike personalities aside from Bikes N Beards. Holds a Physics background so he explains on his videos how an engine works so he does simplify the science behind motorcycles for each of Fortnine's videos..(meaning go back to your Physics high school class lol)
and yes! Fortnine has a video of how Why Electric Motorcycles are Failing..

Electric motorcycles are a niche, and i have seen some crazy offroad electric dirtbikes.
Would I buy one today?
Nope
15 years from now?
maybe
Said it since Tesla came around: anything that requires an outlet and a plug is not a car but an appliance.
Harleys are underpowered because their customers don’t care. If they were they would have bought rice rockets to begin with. Harley isn’t selling performance, they’re selling nostalgia on 2 wheels and outlaw biker chic.
If pushrods are bad for performance, the engineers of the mid-engine Corvette didn’t get the memo. Because it makes almost 500 go-ponies on less than 400 cubes.

Look, I own an EV car and like it…as a commuter car.
An EV bike??? Loud pipes save lives. Mine was plenty loud and we modified my wife’s to make it loud. An electric motorcycle is more of an “organ donor machine” than the crotch rockets.
I would not buy an electric motorcycle. But then I don’t commute in a city by bike.
If I lived in Manila or Mumbai I would consider an electric bike
I want my car to be as quiet as possible. I have and ride a couple of very fast big rice burners. For me, WOT’ing them and hearing the noise as you kick up through the gears is a big part of the experience. Its just not the gforce thrill.
Read later.
As an aside, I am going to buy a Honda cb500x later this year (after I see some resolution of the current stock market's troubles). I live in a small town with lots of beautiful dirt roads in the countryside and want to ride them.
Before settling on the cb500x, I considered the KLR 650 and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. The love the KLR, but price and the thermobob/doohickey issues turned me off. The Svartpilen Husky is a beautiful little bike for the right price, but a little too small for riding a couple of 100 miles on highway (if I decided to spend the day at the beach).
I had a Honda Magna about 20+ years ago. Rode great on the highway (about 100 lbs lighter than a Fatboy) but I missed the beautiful Harley sound. BTW, the Magna was fast...but so what.
I sub to Fortnine as well. Great channel.
I recently bought a new bike and I looked at a bunch of different ones, including a Fat Bob.
While I have some Harley friends, I’m not wed to a look or some kind of bike culture. I wanted something fun to ride.
I bought a Kawi Z900. It has Torque in gobbs starting at around 4000 and it pulls hard. It’s just fun to ride. I’m not into high speed, but I love acceleration and twisty roads, this bike does both very well.
So if it takes not having pushrods and adding water cooling, it works for me.
One of my older street bikes was air cooled and I’ve still got a fin shaped brand on my right calf where I cooked it on the jug. I guess I shouldn’t have been wearing shorts at the time ;)
Gimme a Limey.

I had a Vulcan and then bought a KLR. I loved the KLR so much I sold the Vulcan and bought goodies for the KLR. Great in the mountains.
Harley engines suck. BMW 1200 engines make more horse power and as much torque (136hp/105lb-ft) than a Harley 1800 engine (73hp/110lb-ft). Most bike motors do better than a Harley.
Any other problems?
I was also worried about the seat height (I'm about 5'8" with a 30 inseam).
That said, I could still convince myself to consider a KLR.
Eh, mine isn't so much green ;). Didn't realize this place was about 20 minute ride from my house...I'll go in next time.
If you could deal with the cooling issue, Harley-Davidson engines would be great for a tractor or a generator.
Bike Ping! :-)
“If I lived in Manila”
My in-laws are from the RP. The amount of traffic there is just ridiculous in the heart of Manila even an e-scooter wouldn’t be advisable.
“I subscribe to Fortnine. Extremely informative videos on bikes.”
Ryan has a background in Physics, so he explains the science in a friendly way. The other dude I sub to is Bikes n beards aka STR etc (he has other channels). I know someone who is close to him and he’s a devout Christian supposedly.
“Before settling on the cb500x”
Yeah, Id got for that. I’m looking around but not really replacing my Yamaha R3. My bud runs a used car dealership and it’s understandable to jack the prices during the summer but he feels the market will cool down around October when kids are back in school.
