You can't tune into Morning Joe nowadays without hearing it trumpeted that somewhere between 85-90% of Americans want more gun-control laws.
But over on CNN, Wednesday morning's New Day was telling an inconvenient truth.
Pollster Harry Enten displayed numbers showing that only 36%, barely one-third,of Americans, want more gun control, whereas 54% are satisfied with current laws or want less gun control!

This is how Republicans really think. It's not an accident or stupidity that they constantly push the leftwing agenda forward incrementally.
I’ve noticed that trend from checking their facebook page from time to time, the headlines aren’t 24/7 Trump and there are more national, science, and international news. Plus they’re presenting more Biden reports. Still has a left-lean slant though.
One crazy man murdered people in Uvalde.
Hundreds of government employees killed people in Waco.
There are millions of government employees.
One crazy man is a problem.
Millions of government employees are a real problem.
No gun control.
Not as long as there is even one person in the Democrat Party Cult.
Since when have our Smarter & Betters gave a rat’s patoot what us Flyover people thought? Usually election years. However, I suspect they figure they have found away around that obstacle. You know, they count the votes.
That is just what MAGA wants you to think. We all know American’s only concerns are more gun control, transgender and gay rights and global warming. Dems need to focus their energy more on these 3 issues.

We have literally thousands of "gun control" laws on the books across the Country - at the national, state, and local levels.
Oddly enough, many of the cities and regions with the worst crime - including firearms related crime - are areas with the most strict "gun control" laws. These areas are demonstrably not safer, they are more dangerous.
If thousands of "gun control" laws do not prevent firearms related crimes, by what logic would anyone believe just one more, or a dozen more, or even a hundred more "gun control" laws would help? You know what they say about trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result - the definition of insanity.
In virtually all cases mass shooting incidents happen in so-called "gun free zones." Obviously "gun free zones" are not. Mere signs and laws do not keep anyone safe. In fact "gun free zones" seem to attract mass shooters. A moment's contemplation makes this obvious. In an area where law abiding citizens are forbidden from being armed, a would-be attacker knows he or she will find a group of relatively defenseless potential victims. So given the choice of attacking someplace where an armed citizen might shoot back, ending their crimes prematurely, or attacking someplace where they know they'll have an unimpeded reign of terror for 15 to 20 minutes... Where do you think our maniacs are going to go? "Gun free zones" literally attract attacks. They are the dumbest idea anyone has had in the last hundred years, other than maybe the Axis attacking on the Eastern front.
In terms of improving public safety every single "gun control" law is premised on the ludicrous assumption that criminals will obey "gun control" laws while being prepared to break so many others - up to and including committing felonies, murder, etc. "Oh, hey, I better make sure I have legal magazines before I go shoot up the school." - said no whack-job ever. "Gosh, better not use my un-licensed suppressor when I go light up the food court." - said no whack-job ever. Yet these and others are exactly the expectation of such laws as "universal" background checks. It would be knee-slapping, Monte-Python-esque humor for a criminal to stop an illegal arms sale or theft to get a background check. That is like expecting meth dealers to ask buyers for a prescription from their doctor, and conduct the sale at a licensed pharmacy.
Absolute insanity. I have zero respect for anyone who advocates for "gun control." They are either breathtakingly ignorant and just plain stupid, lacking any common sense. Or they are evil, desiring "gun control" to further an agenda so nefarious they believe if/when it comes to light law abiding citizens might rise up and use those firearms against them. Either way, they deserve no respect, only derision and mistrust.
Leftists aren’t afraid of guns, people who are afraid of guns are. The left burns cities with glee. They will point a gun at you or me and pull the trigger.
My old man didn’t teach me much but one time he told me about giving your opponent a false sense of security. Don’t let the left pull a feign.
I don’t want all Americans to own firearms, are you sure you do?
Anyway, thanks for your considered reply to my earlier post.
Ok, but I think most leftists (womyn) are afraid of guns, especially in the hands of anyone other than government.
And of course their antifa/blm brownshirts are more than willing happy to kill.
“They will not be deterred. They will go forth and win. ‘Our” side are wimps and embarrassing.”
With that crappy attitude, it looks like you live in a perverted, deep blue state. Have you considered moving?
The schools aren’t following security rules.
“And of course their antifa/blm brownshirts are more than willing happy to kill.”
No, they aren’t. They are more likely to cry like little girls and run away.
When Mayor Groot of Chicago sent her racist BLM goons into Cicero to destroy Mexican neighborhoods and businesses in June, 2020, the Mexicans set up barricades with armed Mexicans. The Mexicans beat the crap out of the BLM racists and chased them back into their Chicago ghettos.
I don’t have a crappy attitude. I live in Georgia! I’ve seen my state transition to blue for no reason at all! “Our” side could not push back. ‘Our” side are wimps!
The offer still stands. If you live in a crappy state, find a better state to live in.
We need kid control, not gun control.
Ok Sergeantdave! Salute!
Could someone please post a link to the actual poll? I couldn’t seem to find one in the article....
You must be carrying a whole lot of sin...
