Just a point for discussion.
If a Federal law is passed to raise the age to 21 as a requirement to buy or own a firearm, shouldn’t the age requirement to join the military be raised to 21 also ???
How can we justify asking 18, 19 & 20 year olds to fight and possibly die for our country when we deny them on of the basic rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights ?
I view those two questions as independent of each others. If they make good soldiers then why not allow them to join.
I personally think 18 year olds should not be allowed to vote because they haven’t had a chance to see how making a living, raising a family, etc., is affected by government’s actions.
LOL! I don't remember.......It was just cool to run into these two guys and find out they never went to Vietnam but instead had duties in Germany.
They and I were lucky........
Count me in...I spent the late 60’s in West Berlin. Still haven’t recovered!😎
A friend and co-worker who was stationed in Berlin actually smuggled an East Berlin family thru check point Charley in the trunk of a modified vehicle that expanded the trunk and reinforced the suspension system to accommodate the additional weight of the family. The family eventually made it to the US and settled in Washington State.......
This was around 1970 or so.....
Ditto!
Fascinating time and place with a million stories.
You can’t drink till 21 ....wrong to me
My sons base looks the other way btw
