Under Obama in order for Florida to receive highway funds from the Feds they had to prove they were enforcing seatbelt laws. The only way to do this is by issuing tickets. I’ve known two women who were riding as passengers but who had moved the belt, so it didn’t press on their breasts. (Swollen nipples.) So under the breasts. Still wearing it, but not in the approved manner. They got tickets. In one case she was unable to pay the ticket because of cash/child health issues so she lost her license, which costs the fine, the penalty and a $450 “reinstatement fee.” Her elderly father eventually paid it so she could resume her job.
I don’t know if it’s a direct cause of this draconian enforcement, but you seldom see a vehicle now that you can see into. A lawyer published an article saying, in essence, that you really needed to go dark on the windows to cut down on various enforcement strategies. If they can’t see in, they have less reason to stop you.
These people are more concerned with putting boys in girls school bathrooms than they are in keeping nutjobs out of schools .
