Just kidding, of course. Back in 1776 we rejected the whole concept of royalty. No disrespect meant to the original poster here, but some Americans just gotta have their royalty anyway. If not Harry and Meghan, it’s the Kardashians.

I have enormous admiration for the queen. I’m old enough to remember the beginning of WW2. I was only 5 then but knew it was horrible from radio news every night. Elizabeth and her mother and father stayed in their palace very close to London, though any who could sent their children further north to be safe. Part of the palace was bombed, but they stayed anyway.
Elizabeth gave radio speeches encouraging people, reassuring them that Brits would win. I understand she also drove a jeep somewhere where the would be in danger. Brits loved her.
When she dies I will mourn her passing. The rest of them can go suck rocks.
