Officials in Foster City, California ruffled the feathers of animal rights activists with their plan to kill hundreds of geese after failing to reduce the mess of their droppings through other measures.

Yeah, California, it’s the geese that’s the problem.
Being California, wouldn’t the leftists consider diapering the birds?
I have played enough golf and have felt like shooting those feathered rats called geese many times. They are simply a machine to convert grass into green slimy slippery poop.
I once got chased by a gaggle of geese on a golf course in Myrtle Beach
A little garlic(or a lot if you like) thyme oregano assorted other spices in a 350 degree oven for about 2 1/2-3 hours.
Then bang a tubular triangle with a metal rod.
I’d pay to watch them diaper geese. That would be special. It would be the best show ever. No tranquilizers allowed. 🤣
Used to have a ton of geese around here. Kind of scarce now that the eagles have rebounded.
Kinda ironic that it is OK for their people to poop all over the place, but geese get a death sentence for it.
How about let someone harvest the geese and make dinner out of them?
and the humans who are also causing ‘a mess of their droppings’ ???
Is that the answer ???
Rounding them up and relocating is not a good choice.
Birds like those will simply fly right back to where they started from. They can be very stubborn and compulsive.
Only the Ducklings are likely to get disoriented.
I cannot believe that California wants to kill geese!
I live in Indiana and the Canada Goose is like an overgrown rat. We are overrun with them. I have a pond which they try to nest on every year, but I run them off.
When they first arrived, they were Canadian Geese...
They were protected...
Now they are a nuisance to be killed?
Is this a metaphor for what's to come?

Give thembto the power.
That’ll give the lefties a pause...
Bill Mollison, of permaculture fame, told a story once of some vegans that decided to grow all their own food and were vegans because they didn’t believe in killing animals for food. Problem was that they were in a rural area with plenty of critters that ate their garden. They ended up killing animals so they wouldn’t starve. They didn’t eat the animals or do anything with them so they ended up with a bunch of animal corpses in varying degrees of decomposition from stinky week old to bare skeletons.
There is a season on them..............
Precisely my thought when I saw the thread title.
There should be an open season on them, such as kill on sight.
Been there, done that!
