Shocking journalistic malpractice from major media organizations -- Journalists coordinate misleading language to intentionally misinform readers
self | 5/17/2022 | self

Washington Post:

"hundreds of combatants — dozens of them seriously wounded — were evacuated from the complex Monday."

Reuters:

"The Ukrainian regiment at the steel plant said it was fulfilling orders to save the lives of troops by evacuating them."

AFP:

"Rescue mission under way at Azovstal as hundreds evacuated"

All of these articles make it sound as if the people involved are being "rescued" by the Ukrainian military and taken to a neutral or safe location. Mission over, on to the next task for them.

None of these articles use the words "surrender", "prisoner of war" or "detention" which is the actual reality of the situation.

These are all military troops who have surrendered, being taken to detention centers in enemy controlled territory. Some of them will face criminal trials for war crimes.

So why are our journalists clearly coordinating to misinform and mislead us?

The use of the word "evacuate" is absolutely dishonest and ridiculous in this context.

It CAN'T be an accident that disparate news organizations are all misleading us in exactly the same contrived way at the same time.

Isn't the implication of that very disturbing? That journalists from so many organizations are somehow all instantly on the same page to use the same grossly misleading language?

Is there some big brother blast network that gives them exactly the words and narrative to use?

There was another extreme example along these lines recently.

Russia had newly started insisting that payments for gas be made directly to their banks.

Somehow all the western journalists absolutely refused to report the simple truth of the matter.

That the west had seized 300 billion dollars the Russians had in foreign exchange accounts, and that if payments continued to be paid into those accounts, they would likely not be paid at all for their gas.

They reported all sorts of malicious motives for insisting on payment directly to Russian banks, but carefully avoided the simple truth that they just wanted to get paid and not give gas away for FREE.

Dozens and dozens of articles all had this same journalistic malpractice, it was very rare to find one that correctly informed their readers.

Journalism is dead, long live the propaganda narrative

I don’t see the likelihood of a war crime having been committed by the Ukrainian defenders of the plant.

Using civilians as human shields is a war crime. Even worse when they are your own countrymen.

I remember when Limbaugh used to do his montages, one of the funniest was when everyone was using the word Gravitas to explain what Bush the Younger didn’t have. It was a pity we were given such a schlub like George W to represent conservatism.

It's been that way for quite some time now. Witch is why I no longer own a TV or read a newspaper, I get my news here and at other outlets on the net like Rebel News and Real America's Voice.

They have to feed it to AP & Reuters, because they have to disassociate for deniability purposes. But you are correct, they are the origination point. 🙂

“In May 1789, Louis XVI summoned to Versailles a full meeting of the ‘Estates General’. The First Estate consisted of three hundred clergy. The Second Estate, three hundred nobles. The Third Estate, six hundred commoners. Some years later, after the French Revolution, Edmund Burke, looking up at the Press Gallery of the House of Commons, said, ‘Yonder sits the Fourth Estate, and they are more important than them all.’

It’s possible that there is a central agency that tells the news media what to say. That is a definite possibility.

Another explanation is that the committed, passionate leftists who work in the media all think alike. They don’t need to coordinate their words. Each knows what the other is thinking before he thinks it.

It’s also possible that the reality lies in a combination of the above. While they all think alike, they look to the new york times for guidance on what to say and think. It’s also likely that all the leftist media get a communication from some internal democrat operative that tells them how to handle each story as it comes out.

Bottom line, don’t expect truth from the mainstream media.

Teach your children the required steps:

1) Assume any story from a major news outlet has been slanted to make the collectivist position on the issue look correct.

2) Take note of the bare facts in the piece - disregard the opinions.

3) Go to a site with cogent commentary (FR being one of the better ones) and try to see if the story is being discussed there.

4) Compare the facts in the original piece against the facts being discussed, and evaluate any new facts that commentators are reviewing - omission of facts harmful to the advance of collectivism is one of the MSM’s primary disinformation tools.

5) Consider the opinions of the source author against the opinions of the commentators.

6) Draw your own conclusions about the event discussed.

It is not difficult to engage in this analysis - here on FR we all do it every day. But it does take a little bit of work. Make sure the people you love learn how to do this, too - and don’t just get their news by sitting on the couch sucking in whatever collectivist tripe the MSM is coordinating.

“Given the circumstances of the battle, I don’t see the likelihood of a war crime having been committed by the Ukrainian defenders of the plant.”

How do you know this? Are you on Zelensky’s cabinet?

The point is the only people who know this are the people there.

You have an uninformed opinion. That’s all.

There is “nothing new under the sun.” Except this propaganda has been notched up to the ridiculous.

Remember years ago how badly we bashed Pravda and other Russian media for outright lies and misinformation? Remember Baghdad Bob from Iraq? Yet, not a word when the so-called western media is lock-step deep into lies and misinformation — on steroids!

-First came Trump Derangement Syndrom
-Next came COVID Derangement Syndrom
-Now we have Ukraine Derangement Syndrom

Wonder what’s next when Russia finishes shellacking the Ukes and “evacuates” the Donbas and Odesa?

Continuing that train of thought: Edmund Burke’s Fourth Estate is today’s (Social Communist’s) Fifth Column.

This is how the MSM operates all the time. They are a harmful blot on society and need to be destroyed.

They take their cell phones into the can, with them.

Reminds me of the story or the lady who dropped her cell into the Olympic National forest service crapper. She went in after it.

It's called talking points, and they've been doing it for over fifty years.
