The Queer As Folk and It's A Sin creator, who is returning to Doctor Who after departing in 2009, posted a selfie with Gatwa on the Baftas red carpet
That's not to put aside the fact he's an exceptionally gifted young actor. He's absolutely brilliant. He's been nominated for the Bafta for all three series of Sex Education, so he's not just been cast because of what he can demographically bring in.
It's a double bonus because he can bring in that demographic and in theory give a fantastic performance as the Doctor

I can vouch that the classic Doctors were not gay, certainly not in real life!
Who could not see this coming from 100 miles away? When they chose the 13th, whom I do not accept as the doctor, the show runner told us at the LA convention that if we didn’t agree with the choice we could just disappear. So I did. Fan since 1978, I knew the classic Doctors personally from the 1980s and 1990s conventions. One was a dear friend of mine.
I remember when the 13th was not yet chosen, Mark Steyn predicted it would be a handicapped lesbian Muslim woman in a wheelchair. He was right about Dr. Woke!

I stopped watching when they put in the woman (lesbian?)......this isn’t any different.... just a woke variation on a woke theme.....

Both had good writing. I immediately think of Queen Latifah in The Equalizer show.
She is a great actor and did good things with utterly mind blowinly bad writing.
Can you even imagine Denzel as "Dr Who"? They'd need much better writers.

I have never heard of him. I read the entire article and the only mention of him being homosexual is that he has played homosexual characters. Thus, is he or isn’t he homosexual.
And, the answer to which we won’t know until the scripts/advertisements are released—Will he play and act the role as the first homosexual Dr. Who?
I stopped watching when Capaldi’s doctor had the mouthy gay golliwog as a companion.

Somber time for a Whovian. It was bad enough that the talentless cultural vandal Chris Chibnall and the feckless adult pretender Jodie Whittaker managed to pervert “Doctor Who” with leftist propaganda and retconned the Doctor’s origin to effectively kill an iconic show. Now, presumed franchise savior Russell T. Davies wants to shove a Black Scottish poofter down fan’s throats. No. Enough. I don’t give a damn how talented Gatwa is or how creative the RTD scripts will be. “Doctor Who” is dead — dead as a door nail.
I never liked and never watched the show, so I really don't care one way or the other.
