A nationwide shortage in baby formula is worsening, according to a new analysis, as parents have expressed alarm over the worrying trend.
At retail locations across the United States, about 40 percent of the top-selling infant formula products were not in stock for the week ending April 24, said Datasembly. The company said that it tracked baby formula stock at more than 11,000 stores nationwide.
“This is a shocking number that you don’t see for other categories,” Ben Reich, CEO of Datasembly, told CBS News. “We’ve been tracking it over time and it’s going up dramatically. We see this category is being affected by economic conditions more dramatically than others,” Reich added.
Previously, drugstore chains like Walgreens and CVS have announced they would limit how many baby formula products each shopper can purchase at a given time.

The Walmart in my little city put limits on purchase of infant formula to 4 count per person per day.....been that way since a couple months now.....
If only women had a way to feed infants that did not depend on the supply chain.
To paraphrase the late, great Johnnie Cochran
If the formula runs low, to the boob we must go...
In PA supermarkets, I have noticed that baby formula is usually locked up like high dollar electronics. Often behind the courtesy desk, and in a glass case.
This has been going on for a few years at least.
“Another reason to breastfeed.”
Car light bulbs are locked up now at the local WalMart.
Must be another lucrative theft target?

Can we not even make baby formula in America?
Bongino just covered this.
Little research does the mind some good too......
Tittie shortage?
being able to breast feed your baby is a God given right and responsibility and it makes the argument for joint custody an absurdity. Males and females have roles to play and this whole world would be better if people would be able to do that.
There’s shortages of many things, but baby formula?
its sad at work to see young mothers having to pump breast milk in the bathroom so they can have natural milk for their babies..
I am all in favor of returning to the old days...
Nope, it’s all imported from Iraq and we bombed the factory.
But that way might make them miss the 9:00 am marketing meeting - which Democrats assure us could destroy the entire economy. :)
Never EVER poke the Momma Bear!!!! They will bite back!
That’s a classic....
