Pieces of ‘fireball’ meteor that exploded over Mississippi are being found, NASA says

Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Hey, 'Face! Thank you for prayers. Lotsa thunderstorms. Had to replace central A/C and the A/C people had pity on me and cleared out my electric dryer duct. It's like pulling teeth to get people to address small work jobs in a remote rural area.
How about you? All settled in yet?

The only other place I remember having so much was in Puget Sound, with 100”,.. Wow…where were you in Puget Sound? I went to first & second grade in Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island. Beautiful place!

When I had cats, I found that to be true... they always preferred offloading on the carpeted areas...

MANY candidates. Leave it to me to save the right one for last. I find that happens to me quite often... sigh.

No, SG, for the first time in my life, Its taken me far too long to get unpacked and settled.
They had to send someone to fix my A/C and the sad part was that my FS worked on the frame to the sofa for almost three hours with no A/C. But it got the job done and I now have a place for company to sit. :o]

We lived in Oly when the kids were 10 and 13. It was beautiful! I loved it there, but it’s when I first developed arthritis, so it wasn’t healthy for me. I was barely in my 30s.
Never got to Whidbey Island but I’ve seen it in movies! 😜

What are you doing up so late, young man? You know the rules. No computers until your homework is done. 😁

    Pensive kitteh.
Good morning. Did you have a good night?
I had forgotten how wonderfully warm it was in Henderson, and I’d give anything if I could wear a short-sleeved shirt without being cold. It’s 107° for today, 111° by Saturday.
I’m waiting for the water to heat up again.
A friend from church came by yesterday with a plate of food just about the time I was cooking up a pan of sloppy joes so the meat wouldn’t go bad. I was going to share with Mona, but she gets scared in T-storms and goes to stay with her boyfriend.
The gal stayed about an hour and a half and I told her I was doing nothing for the next month. Anyway, the point of the story is that she will take me to Kroger today to get my prescription as she has a few things to pick up. The Other Folks will be home sometime on Saturday, so I guess he will come to get his truck Sunday or Monday.

Good morning, and not bad. I was dreaming that one of my church friends was a swim-team coach and also a ninja when the alarm went off.
It’s gloomy here this morning. Maybe we’ll get rain. I have music and Cub Scouts paperwork to do this morning. In the afternoon, Kathleen has the art class at the library and then a Scouts meeting in the evening.
We’re going to cook Frank’s organic chicken today.
