One Insider analysis estimated nearly 9,000 avocado-related visits to the ER in the US during 2018

We need to pass common sense avocado control now!

There’s no reason a person needs an assault avocado.

I cut in four...then twist and turn. Spoon scoop works okay.

Oh fergoshsakes - always use a very sharp knife. Cut in single motion from stem to other end and back to the stem again, around the pit. Twist the halves and remove one to expose the pit. Lightly ‘hack’ the knife edge into the center of the pit and twist - the pit pops right out. Leave two perfectly clean halves for making slices, or easy scooping.

Anyone who does the “avocado-pit-removal-with-a-big-knife” while holding it in their hand should not be allowed near knives.

I use a knife.

Bang the handle on the cutting board when the pit is on it.

Voila! Flying pit!

That is the way I always do it. I can’t imagine someone trying to stab the avocado with the point. You are almost begging someone for a ride to the ER.

This is the way I learned to do it working in a mexican restaurant. Don’t spear the damned pit, you’re just asking for trouble that way. Hack it!

Your local ER doctors are the ones leaving those pamphlets in the “whole foods” store advising you to spear an avocado pit. Who does that? Only possessed people.

Pro tip: A very sharp knife, wielded properly is a lot safer than a dull one.

Advise all liberals to suck the pit out. It’s for the children.
