Don’t bring a notepad to a dogfight.
Shoot to kill.
Don’t bring a notepad to a dogfight.
YEP
I guess it will be called Jacqueline Beard's Law now. Apparently it didn't do much good to have the law on the books in the first place.
What kind of dogs?
Almost as successful as gun free zones.
You might be a redneck if.....The dog catcher calls for a backup unit when visiting your house.

breed of peace I’m sure.... and to think their are mental cases who allow these things around children and babies even... these people are sick.
NEWSFLASH - animals are NOT people no matter how bad you want them to be.
“Oliver said seven mixed breed dogs were put down and were believed to have been involved in the attacks.”

Yeah, mixed breeds alright...all mixed with Pit Bulls, most likely.
Saw an episode of Fear Thy Neighbor where the next door neighbor of this woman forgot,(allowed) his two dogs out overnight and they got ahold of this poor lady in her morning walk.
It was horrible what happened to her!
The cops found pieces of her scattered everywhere.
The dogs were going to attack the cops.
They shot them.
This all really happened, the show is based on real life events.
A woman without a gun should not have been sent to investigate killer dogs.
Exactly.
You can have all the laws you want, but reality always ends up winning.
I was just reading about this; it’s very sad. I agree with everyone that said some version of “Gee, why didn’t she have a weapon?” Like, at least some bear spray or something.
I have been charged by pit bulls a few times. Pepper spray to the face seems to have worked thus far, but usually I have Walt in case I have to hit something with lead. I actually feel sorry for the dogs, because clearly no one is taking care of them.
I dunno if anybody remembers, but a few years ago a woman was mauled to death by a pack of DACHSUNDS. (Mixed-breed dachhunds, but wow. I saw pics of the dogs’ dead bodies after they were shot and none of them was as big as a cocker spaniel.)
If you care about your friends and family, advise them and teach them, where appropriate, and encourage them to carry and be able to use weapons. This isn’t a day when honest folks and little kids should go about unarmed.
Another gun free zone attack
Nothing left to say.
This is happening too often.
I’m getting some bear spray for when I hike or even walk along the roads in rural areas. People are insane about their pit bulls (which is what most of these dangerous dogs are) and even though there are laws about keeping them confined, many of the owners simply let them roam or keep them in pens where it is very easy for the dogs to get out.
Before people tell me that I should carry a gun, let me say that I’d be dead long before I managed to get it out or do any damage with it, so bear spray is a better option!
Left to wander with no guidance or supervision, animals can become savage and feral, just like some humans.
I lived in Highlands Ranch (Denver south side suburb) for a while. In my neighborhood there was an entry by the house onto a green belt trail. I was outside one afternoon and a deputy sheriff zoomed down the street then up the trail with his lights on. Not your usual happening for sure. A few minutes later there were several gunshots. It turned out that the deputy shot the 2 or 3 pit bulls.
The pits had escaped a yard then cornered a woman that was hiking the green belt. Several teen boys were on the trail after hockey practice and walking home still in pads. They kept the dogs away with hockey sticks until the deputy showed up.
Not soon after, in a rural area way outside Denver, pit bulls running free killed a woman outside her front door. A fire engine was the first responder. The pits were still around and the firemen had to retreat back inside their truck, the dead woman still on the porch. Deputies showed up and put all the dogs down. I recall that it was a pretty gruesome scene and got big play in the news and with the politicos.
After this incident, the State IIRC passed a law that made it a murder 2 or 3 felony for the owner of a dangerous breed that killed a person. I noticed the owner in the OP was charged with manslaughter.
