This will be interesting to see what happens and if so called conservatives who bemoan big spending vote for a supplemental bill like this.

I suggest watching the vote closely when it happens...

It's going to tell us a lot!

Didn’t Zelensky just ban some eleven political parties? Guess this is “democracy”. Speed up the printing press.

“I suggest watching the vote closely when it happens...”

If only we could know how much of that $33bn was going to be stolen here, then how much was going to be stolen once it gets to Ukraine.

I suspect that $33bn will shrink by about 20%. 10% for the big guy on both sides of the pond.

I’m curious to know if we’re still part of Oceania or if this is some temporary alliance with Eurasia to battle the evil Eastasians...

Smedley Butler for President!

His corpse has more sense than anyone in DC right now.

"Will the $33bn Ukraine "aid" giveaway be bipartisan?"

Yes indeed!
The money will be divided up and wasted on other pet projects by both the communists and the GOP...
They all win...
Except the Ukrainians, who will get a just few crumbs...

“sacred responsibility to defend democracy”?

The Ukraine had a democracy. It was overthrown by a violent coup in 2014.

And Obama/Biden supported the coup.

So...egads.

Ukraine’s yearly GDP is $150 billion - probably a lot less now.

We are giving them 25% of their yearly total GDP.

What exactly will it go for?

It will certainly top-off a lot of corrupt NATO lackey bank accounts

Serious question, do you really believe this won’t be bipartisan?

Enough for a complete border wall with $8 billion left over for Border Patrol.

There was no justification for Hitler invading another country. But there is an explanation. During the 30 Years War, parts of Germany lost half their population. And Germany was only 1/40 the size of Russia, meaning it was vulnerable to foreign invasion. In some ways, Russia could be seen as rightfully German territory, given that the Romanovs were partially-descended, from Catherine onwards, from German nobility.

In much the same way that there was bipartisan agreement on massive supplies for a genocidal Russian regime against an expansionist Germany in the 1940’s, it’s very likely that both parties will support a tiny aid package for a democratic Ukraine against an expansionist Russia in the 2020’s. The US handed over an amount equivalent to 4% of its economy to Russia per year during WWII. The amount of aid to Ukraine, if it adds up to $100b this year, would be 0.4% of the $23T US economy. In other words, the US would be, relatively-speaking, providing 1/10 the aid to democratic Ukraine that it provided to Russian genocidaires during WWII.

I will add I see nothing noting the pay back schedule for this Ukrainian loan. Both Britain and Russia paid their lend lease from WWII in full.

At what point does it just become cheaper to buy everyone in the Ukraine a house in a nicer country ? It’s not like anyone wants to live in Ukraine anyway

You drag $33 Billion around the Beltway and the fish on that long line are bipartisan. Gut them all. Chum with their carcasses. Maybe 10% goes to any real help to Ukraine. Ukraine is the Haiti earthquake of 2022.

Of course it will be bipartisan. The Ukraine adventure is a uniparty priority.

This is IN ADDITION to the over $12 billion for Ukraine passed earlier. It’s in addition to the “Lend Lease for Ukraine” legislation.

Yet another SPENDING SPREE. The FUNGIBLE cash will be flowing like the Mississippi River.
