Medical experts question Kamala Harris’ use of Pfizer pill for COVID treatment

Vice President Kamala Harris has said she had “no symptoms” following her COVID-19 diagnosis - but some medical experts were left baffled after it was revealed she was taking an antiviral pill designed to treat patients with severe cases.

Harris’ office announced Tuesday that the vice president was prescribed and had used Pfizer’s Paxlovid following a consultation with her doctors just hours after she tested positive for the virus.

Paxlovid is designed to reduce severe symptoms among high risk patients, which has some experts questioning why it would be prescribed to a healthy, double-boosted and asymptomatic 57-year-old patient.

“Asymptomatic covid and no medical issues isn’t an indication for Paxlovid,” former Surgeon General Jerome Adams tweeted.

Jonathan Reiner, Professor of Medicine and Surgery at George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, raised a similar issue.

“Why would you give Paxlovid to someone without symptoms?,” he tweeted Wednesday.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked about how Harris’ prescription appeared to be at odds with White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha’s guidance that it be given to patients with a high risk for developing a severe case.

“Well, he also said … that you should consult with your doctor, and she consulted with her doctor,” Psaki said.

It’s for high risk patients. The attending physician may know things that the media has not reported on.

Ummm because she lied?

Maybe she wasn’t so asymptomatic or maybe the pill story is fake.

Dunno. Can’t trust anything they say.

The story seems a bit contrived. These pols are such crooks, my guess is that are floating these stories to guage voter and opposition response. Our cherished institutions which are dependant on trust have been overrun by thieves of public monies.

The story is nothing more than marketing. This sort of “news” is merely product endorsement. Brought to you by Pfizer....

Agree, the story says: she had “no symptoms”

So, can someone here tell me Why In The Hell Did She Get Tested In The First Place? Seems like the Dems are testing for no reason other than for publicity or wokester sympathy points.

Either way I believe her story is BS. If not, maybe Karma will make a HARD visit.

Thanks for the kind words. My wife and I were discussing "product placement" in movies last night. That got me thinking about how much "product placement" -- marketing -- is being passed off as "news."

Corporatism is in part messaging, as the propagandists of the last century saw so clearly. Corporate news speaks of and for corporate pharma through corporate "celebrities."

"noun Political / Economic system in which power is exercised through large organizations (businesses, trade unions, their associated lobbying efforts, etc.) working in concert or conflict with each other; usually with the goal of influencing or subsuming the direction of the state and generally only to benefit their own socioeconomic agendas at the expense of the will of the people, and to the detriment of the common good.

"noun The influence of large business corporations in politics."

The corporatists pretend to be of the well-meaning conservative or well-meaning liberal side of things, but they are only on THEIR side of things.

Consider that the current DoD is headed by a Raytheon head, the NIH by Fauci and his love of vaccine manufacturers, and so much more.

Well, Heels-Up is definitely high-risk - for the country!

That must have been their criteria.

The funny thing about marketing is that often it convinces someone against a product. While the deep state thinks itself clever about nudging and messaging, people don't respond to well to a shove or the application of steer manure to them.... When the con is spotted it is all the more easily seen. When the merchandized lie is seen through, it will always be seen through, and consumers do share such "lessons" with their peers. So it seems to me.

The interesting phenomena with Paxlovid is the “Paxlovid rebound” where the patient feels better for the duration of the prescription. After that, many reports indicate that covid returns, complete with positive tests and symptoms. Some say the symptoms are mild, but not everyone.

A verified warning from one doctor was “A known side effect is hepatitis”…

Not a lot of studies on this, but many testimonies.
