8.5-minute video story from Carl Icahn explaining what happens when you take over a new company and fire a lot of people. Funny and a great lesson for Elon Musk dealing with Twitter and for all of us.

when we took over a post-production company, the very first thing I did was write down which cars had a HOPE & CHANGE sticker, and got rid of them quickly

Donald Trump should have taken a page out of Icahn’s book in 2017.

True, despite his TV tagline, he was terrible at firing people. And just as bad at hiring, which is the only thing that gives me pause about a 2nd term. Has he learned and will he do better?

Trump must be sensitive to criticism in this area. He seems always to hire based on upper crust credentials and Ivy League educational backgrounds rather than going with his gut.

I was just thinking the same damn thing myself. Bingo!

Reality is you don’t buy a company and fire everybody, now you can ask them all to “reapply” for their job in hopes of finding out who’s interested in helping you move on.

Great video, thanks for the post.
Can you imagine the same principles being applied to government? I am certain that I could raise the unemployment rate in the DMV by 70%.

Has he learned and will he do better? He needs to keep Ivanka and her husband away from everything if he gets elected, but I doubt it.

I imagine Trump has an extensive list prepared for January 2025.
