When I was in Massachusetts back in 98-99, there was a grocery store in Roxbury that had a high chain link fence around the property with two guarded entrance/exits.

This was to keep out the feral, Amish, junior high yutes.

Warren Street is named for Doctor Joseph Warren a prominent resident of Roxbury, which in days gone by was a separate Township from Boston. Dr. Warren was killed at the battle of Bunker Hill, one of the first casualties of the actual (though still undeclared) Revolutionary War.

For a hundred years or so, a great statue stood within walking distance of that McDonald's dump. The monument was moved more than 30 years ago. I found it and I took many pictures of it. My childhood came alive as I stood there in awe marveling at that great work of art and being pensive about the man himself. Dr. Warren was by all reports a great man and he gave his life for the hope that this Nation would be born and thrive.

I attended High School also within walking distance of that shithole McDonald's.

It reminded me of the guy who was stealing from a Marine’s Christmas Charity. When the cops came to pick up the perp, he had tripped off the curb and had a broken leg and a number of other injuries.

I just read the news of 10 year old girl, Lily Peters, being murdered by a “juvenile” while walking home. No details, but that she was walking home. Statement from the police was that she knew him, but there was nothing for the community to worry about in the future.

If I’m right in my assertions, this may go down the memory hole with the thousands that have already.

It’s not like back in my day. You can’t just let your 10 year old daughter walk home alone around 9pm or even daylight.

When a cup of soda splashed onto one of the teen’s jeans, the juvenile allegedly came inside and punched the worker in the face. Boston 25 reported the worker dialed 911 but refused medical treatment. The group of minors came back less than an hour later to try to fight employees, and one of them was spotted allegedly swinging a metal cane toward the restaurant’s lights.

They should be in jail in straitjackets.
