The "official" plan was for Nacho to tell the Salamancas his Peru story, then "make a break for it", allowing Gus' henchmen to take him out quick. It would look good and everyone would be satisfied.
Only Nacho and Mike didn't trust that plan--or Gus.
Instead, Nacho wanted Mike to take him out clean if it looked like Gus would turn him over to the Salamancas.
In the end ... Nacho took himself out, making the story look even better AND sparing Mike from pulling the trigger. One last noble act.
Wow ... these shows are stunning.

It sure did clear up some stuff.I'm kind of embarrassed I tried to figure everything out from Episode 2. I think all questions were answered tonight. All I had to do was wait :)
But wow ... there are going to be YouTube reaction videos to this one for years.

There was nowhere left for Nacho to go. If he ran, eventually he would be caught and tortured, or he would escape and his father would be tortured and killed.
He had to really sell that story to the Salamancas in order to protect his father--and boy, did he!
Hector is going to be pooping his diaper for a loooong time about this.

I figured the big bottom line was to ensure his father’s safety. He sacrificed himself.

Sheesh, I completely forgot about the Jimmy story tonight.
So now he has access to Hamlin's NAMASTE car with the world's biggest key fob?

Yep. It’ll be interesting to find out what he and Kim are up to. One more caper to set up Howard and close out Sandpiper.

There was at least one other time that I remember ... and it involved almost the same people!
Mike had pre-stroke Hector in his crosshairs, but Nacho unknowingly blocked his shot. The Twins were there too.
So were Gus' henchmen, but they were never seen. One left the note "Don't!" on his steering wheel.

I was thinking that Nacho was in Breaking Bad. Guess not or he wouldn’t be dead in this one.

“His zip-tie was lying near the shard of glass”
We just re-watched the opening again and noticed the piece of glass, too. Didn’t the first time around. Of course, it wouldn’t have made sense then, anyhow.

For me it would require multiple viewings in order to determine just what ‘the message’ is in these opening scenes.
The one where Saul tosses the ice cream cone onto the sidewalk because he was essentially kidnapped, and then the focus on those ants was remarkable. I think that Gilligan loves to provoke us into figuring out just what we are supposed to be on the alert for. In my case, I just want to watch it in order to see what happens next. I have to figure out the ants, the rain in the desert tinkling the glass, and the blue flowers later.
It is a very cool Program. Hey, I am still trying to figure out the real meaning of the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. That was 28 years ago.
OK, Marcellus Wallace sold his Soul and wanted it back. Everyone who viewed the contents of the briefcase got it at once. It was weird stuff, but it is now immortal. QT thinks that he is funny with that stuff, but who can deny his brilliance?

It seems like there are quite a few fuzzy spiders in BCS, too. Gilligan seems obsessed with small creepy critters.

The glitch was just on my end. The screen froze on the woman’s hand (Kim’s hand?) flicking ashes into the scales of justice, and I thought they were going for some kind of Outer Limits thing. “Do not adjust your television ...”

Nope :) His name was only mentioned once in Breaking Bad, and it was just a random made-up name. "Ignacio". It had no significance, other than to show us that Saul Goodman was already involved with shady characters. Same with "Lalo".
From that, they built these three-dimensional characters that we can believe were always a part of this world.
Now whenever I watch a Hector scene in Breaking Bad, I'll think of Nacho.
