This article where AFT head Randi Weingarten said
We're not indoctrinating, We're not grooming. … What we're doing is making sure we educate kids. We keep them safe. We keep them welcome. And we teach them how to think, not what to think.
got me searching for empirical research on sexual misconduct in schools.
In short, I found ONLY ONE decent study and that's from 2004. Professor Shakeshaft's analysis indicated that 9.6 percent of all students in grades 8 to 11 report contact and/or noncontact educator sexual misconduct that was unwanted. Her estimate was that more than 4.5 million students are subject to sexual misconduct by an employee of a school sometime between kindergarten and 12th grade.
THIS article - while 4 years old it covers the bases well - points to why there is no comprehensive policing, and likely why the leftists are so triggered by the Florida law.
To quote Professor Shakeshaft, we must "Stop Prioritizing the comfort of adults over the safety of Children".

I didn’t read the entire article, but I hope it mentions teachers’ unions as another factor that keeps bad teachers on the job.

They stay on the job in exactly the same way that predatory priests stayed on the job. Sympathetic superiors, many of them compromised themselves, turned a blind eye, quietly moved the problem cases around when the heat started to build, and justified their negligence by claiming that they were defending the institution.

Only Child Molesters want to sexualize young children.
Their supporters endorse their agenda and protect their behavior.

First of all, this article appears to be conflating "harassment", an overbroad term used by leftists as anything they don't like, such as questioning fluid sexual identities, with sexual improprieties. The two are not the same. Harassment claims are a way to defeat free speech rights by claiming the speaker/writer "intended to annoy" someone. Sorry, but I don't accept the first premise.
Also note, that as America has become increasingly authoritarian, police are now stationed in our public schools. This may be explained by the fact that it has become harder through the years to remove problem students, i.e., those who interfere in the rights of other students to learn, from the schools. The odd thing about that is that a dirty cop probably can target minor students sexually, since they are apparently not considered as acting as parents, en loco parentis , in the schools. The worst case of betrayal by a public official from sexual abuse was a local police chief who was literally having sex with at least one minor in his office. He got away with it when the local DA declined to prosecute him, apparently because a criminal conviction might require that he reopen many other convictions...
Just remember that many, if not most, students no longer live in traditional two parent households. Who is more likely to sexually abuse a child, a licensed teacher, or the new live-in boyfriend mom dredged up at the corner bar? If these students can't bond with their teachers, because the teacher is afraid of being accused of "grooming" for taking an interest in the child, who will protect these kids? I don't have a problem with that, and I remember when it was normal for students to stay in touch with their teachers. Today, we have a generation of women who used bogus abuse claims to get sole custody of their kids, and keep the father out of the kids' lives. They have now turned that strategy against teachers who get too friendly with students. IMHO, that is wrong, and those parents should be reported for that. Isolating a child is suspicious behavior, and suggests that they are hiding something.

All unions of government employees should be banned. Giant conflict of interest.
