ExxonMobil seems to have been inspired by Florida’s war on woke Disney

It’s possible that Disney’s decision to attack Florida’s pro-parent legislation may stand as the highwater mark of corporate woke madness.

Last week, with Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis leading the charge, the state of Florida took direct aim at the Disney Corporation because of the company’s woke aggression against Florida law and against Florida’s and America’s children. News it out now that, within days of the news about Disney’s loss of self-governing status, ExxonMobil announced that it would no longer fly in front of its corporate office any flags associated with social or political organizations, including the LGBTQ++ or BLM flags. It’s easy to believe that ExxonMobil is sensing a change in the political wind and is returning its corporation to its core business, rather than engaging in woke activism.

In Florida, the trigger for legislative action against Disney was the company’s open declaration that it intended to wage war against Florida for daring to pass a law protecting Florida’s five- through eight-year-olds from LGBTQ++ indoctrination in the classroom. Sensing a corporate entity that had gotten way too big for its britches, Florida withdrew from Disney a self-governing privilege it conferred on the company back in 1967.

Of course, Disney retains its freedom to speak on any subject it wishes. However, it no longer has a unique standing denied to all other corporations in Florida. In Florida, all corporations are now being treated equally when it comes to self-governance within a geographic region.

Some Republicans instantly castigated Florida for withdrawing from Disney a privilege bestowed on it 55 years appear when it appeared that Disney would serve the state of Florida. These Republicans just aren’t bothered that Disney broke that bargain. Instead, they embrace failure whenever possible because that’s their comfort zone.

I bet Walt Disney would be horrified.

Interestingly, ExxonMobil has the same top institutional ownership as Disney.

Hmmmm...

It is now Disney’s official policy, per announcement of its president of General Entertainment, that at least half of all characters in its movies be something other than heterosexual. Because I guess that’s bad now, and children should not be encouraged to have normal lives.

Some, but not all of these corporations fly the BLM or the stupid rainbow flag not because the promote the extreme politics of these movements but because they don't want to be a target of them.

Now that Florida has shown that decent people can play the same games (just not as violently), they are returning to the logical position of selling products and services, not politics.

Walt is spinning in his grave so fast it’s affecting the earths rotation.......the Sunday evenings of watching Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom as a warmup to an episode of The Wonderful World of Disney are long gone I’m afraid.

Another victim of the homosexual agenda. Boy Scouts to for that matter.

All this is straight out of hell IMO.

I think these corporations do it because their boards are all controlled by the same institutional ownership, which is, in essence, part of Deep State.

One key reason that the left puts sexual deviancy on a pedestal is because they think there are too many humans on the planet.

When I was a young college student majoring in "journalism", I would frequent the leftists hangouts such as coffee houses to interview them.

Some of them seriously think the earth can sustain no more than a half billion people, which was the earth's population until about 1650 or so. Others will argue that technological advances (which, of course, had nothing to do with the emergence of capitalism in the century following) means the earth can maybe support as many as four billion.

Directing man's procreative impulses into deviant sex is, therefore, central to their philosophy.

I’d be real tempted to turn the form in blank and walk out. If a medical doctor can’t handle simple biology, I don’t trust him to handle actual medical issues.

Sure, the left would like to reduce the world’s population. But it’s not western civilization who’s population is exploding. It’s the 3rd world’s populations which they don’t even target with their political agendas.

” I had to fill out a short form about my preferred pronoun”

You should have entered: “Yes, your royal highness” :)

Obama was the first decadent regime to fly the homosexual flag on embassy buildings.

Trump came and announced that embassy diplomats represent the USA not specific groups, so he forbid homo flags on government buildings (rightfully so).

Now the Biden regime is back to waving the homosexual flag, on every embassy in every country, even in Muslim countries (Afghanistan) and in Russia. (But NOT China, I wonder why?).

Florida’s war on woke Disney

Why do people write Shiite like this. It was woke Disney that declared war on human decency.

Never answer medical or social questions you find uncomfortable. If there is pushback...leave.

I was in Orlando visiting my sister over Christmas the year that they broke ground on Disney World, it was a major news event locally and as the televised golden shovel entered the soil my sister and her friend in the kitchen were her to exclaim simultaneously “well there goes the neighborhood.”

Disne ruined Orlando, which might be prosperous but it was once a beautiful place to visit now it’s just a big traffic jam.
