“...none of them has ever paid a dividend and I’m not convinced their finances are anything more than smoke and mirrors...”

Exactly.
They’re most likely controlled/funded by DS govt operatives in a “smoke & mirrors” type operation...similar to the obama administration.

Not to mention that Musk could start selling small portions of his holdings without having to make disclosure, capture significant profits, then tank the stock by announcing that he is out.

When otherwise intelligent people do things that don’t make sense, it means they are doing those things for reasons that are hidden.

Their battle to prevent - at all costs - this particular takeover stinks to high heaven. It is becoming very clear that this is not at all about money. There is something else they don’t want to lose. And I think we know what it is.😉

I’m with you. Musk didn’t just decide that he would “make them an offer they can’t refuse” with no thought about what they would do if they didn’t want to take the deal. He’s a businessman. He’s thought through a LOT of scenarios and how to handle them.

One simple example: He gets someone to exceed his bid and then he makes a killing on the sale of his share of the company. But there are many others.

I thought I had read the last 3 years were losses for them, but here’s an article saying last year they lost $1.14 billion, and $1.13 billion the year before

It is becoming very clear that this is not at all about money.

Totally agree. This is about power and information control.

That being said, I do wonder about their internal accounting and sources of income. I think Twitter (and other social media companies) are actually part of the government. If government funds are flowing into or out of Twitter in unorthodox fashion, that would really be eye-opening. If the company is controlled by "the right people" I think they could shield bad/illegal practices from prying eyes.

But if Musk gets in there, and pays for some forensic accounting, any funny business done by Twitter and/or the Deep State could come to light. That could make a house of cards fall over. People might get curious about Facebook and Google too.

Prince Al Waleed bin Talal from Saudi Arabia balked at Musk’s offer in a tweet Thursday. He considers himself to be “one of the largest & long-term shareholders of Twitter.”

Thus, Twitter's anti-American, anti-Christian bias is not so much a surprise.

“Reminded me of a scheme my friend used to do in college where he would donate one cent to the DNC which would cause the DNC to spend money and resources on mailings to thank him for his donation and ask for more donations”

I like the way your friend thinks. We all should do that.

How much does each mailing cost the Rats? Stamps alone is around 50 cents.

“How much does each mailing cost the Rats? Stamps alone is around 50 cents.”

Looks like it’s about $2.50 per.

So if a million people were to engage in this, and let’s assume that they send you 4 mailers, that would cost $10 million, plus whatever time humans spend handling the mail.

Gab.com’s Offer To Elon Musk
https://news.gab.com/2022/04/14/gab-coms-offer-to-elon-musk/

What we are missing at the moment is an ISP. I fear that the next big leap of censorship is at the ISP level, with ISP’s blocking access to Gab.com. You solve that problem with Starlink. Together we can build infrastructure for a free speech internet.

I am willing to offer you a Board seat along with equity in the company in exchange for you selling your Twitter position and investing $2B into Gab. My offer is my best and final offer.

Gab has extraordinary potential. Let’s unlock it together.

“ It will very soon become “unfashionable”

I doubt that. Twitter is the voicebox of the American Reich…today’s U.S. government in its Marxist/fascist form.

As the mouthpiece of the Reich, it needs nothing more to remain “in fashion”. Normal business rules and concepts do not apply. It could lose literally every user except the Reich and still remain viable.

Losses for tax purposes, maybe? Not REAL losses, but expense deductions that make them LOOK like losses...

"...then Elon sells it all at a profit..."

Who does he sell it to? What if he sells it back to Twitter? (Could he do that?)
