From combating Democrats and the liberal media as an anti-Russia hoax House chair, former California Rep. Devin Nunes is now atop former President Donald Trump’s startup social media challenge to leftist Silicon Valley.
“What these companies have been getting away with is something we have never seen in the history of the globe because a lot of these tech tyrants are bigger than what global empires were in history,” Mr. Nunes told me in an interview.
The first item Mr. Nunes wanted to talk about is the same message he had in Washington: Don’t believe “fake news.” In this instance, don’t believe the spurt of negative news articles about the Feb. 21 debut of Truth Social, Mr. Trump’s flagship antidote to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram et al.
The Presidents Day event was not a “full launch,” he says, but a limited opening to early registrars. The rollout provided a chance to work out the bugs for a planned expansion to additional access points, not just the current iPhones and Apple Store. But even with those limits, Mr. Nunes boasts that users are seeing record engagements/interactions — that is “ReTruths.” (A “Truth” is a post; a “ReTruth” is sharing another’s post.)
“Bottom line is it’s the fastest-growing social media company in history,” he told me. “There hasn’t been one that has grown faster.”

Devin Nunes - he ain't black if he don't vote for Joe.
This only confirms my belief that Trump often hires the wrong people in this the people who created this mess.
Cant believe no android app...but for petes sake no PC app?
I LIKE doing my media on a PC...bigger screen, keyboard...
I find the TruthSocial format awkward. I get a “ReTruth” that says “I agree completely”. But there’s no way to find out what the person is agreeing with.
Saying things like “all you need is an algorithm” doesn’t cut it. Other have identified items like hosting agreements and license management.
“..... Truth has probably 6 months to get going before Trump ditches it. Trump will probably want Truth to have gotten a substantial user base before committing to it for 2024, which is why Nunes needs to find the right people to replace the useless mouths who were just fired, like yesterday.”

I couldn’t have said it any better. Truth Social will either get it’s act together and be fully operational by labor day or that will be that. All summer the liberals will be making fun of us, all summer the die-hards conservatives will repeat the same thing over and over (it’s new, built from scratch, soft roll-out, alpha, blah, blah, blah).
The truth of the matter is Nunes said in mid-march that the platform would be fully operational by the end of March and some here on FR repeated that over and over and now are trying to deny it.
Anyway small matter the platform is the laughing stock of the political world but it didn’t have to be that way.
It shouldn’t even have *been* an app to start. It should have been a web based platform first, then follow with mobile apps.
I like Devin, but I think he was a HORRIBLE HIRE ! he should have hooked up with the guy that started Getter.
I’ve been on it for weeks. No issues. No spam. Everyone is there. Nice and clean platform.
That’s what I really meant..a web app you run on a pc browser.
“We are soft-launching this and it should be considered a public beta test so we can iron out problems.”
I’ve received hundreds of emails. All ask for money to benefit NRSC. Among them was the phrase “soft-launch”.
People who take registrations are registrars. People who register are registrants. I’m surprised the Washington Times doesn’t know this.
I’ve gotten some of those too, but I hadn’t seen anything that said “soft-launch” that mentioned TruthSocial.
Thanks for the reality post. I can’t believe the whining from Trump supporters. I assume they are, here on FR.
I clicked, and it says, get the app. That was all I could read.
Thanks for the true Truth Social info.
Yes, that sounds like a fail, unless people are posting that to make TS look bad.
Do you ever get TS posts that say, “I agree completely,” and you cannot tell to what they’re agreeing?
No, I’ve not experienced anything like that. Both TS and GETTR really function similarly to Twitter.
I think he should’ve hooked up with that guy who ran the I.T. part of his 2016 campaign. Tall guy. Can’t remember his name. I recall he had some kind of meltdown issue a couple years back involving his whack-job wife or ex-wife.
When it came to social media, he was magic.
Devin Nunes is a GOOD man.....not sure he was the best pick for this job though!
