Online pornography is as dangerous to youngsters as handing them a weapon, the Children’s Commissioner has warned.
Dame Rachel de Souza said the nation will one day reflect with horror at the ease with which children can currently access extreme sexual images on the internet.
‘We’ll look back in 20 years and be absolutely stunned that our children were exposed to so much harm online,’ she said.
‘I wouldn’t leave a weapon laying around in the offline world and yet we’re doing something equally as dangerous in the online world.’

OMG!!! CHILDREN WATCHING PORN???? JESUS....COME QUICKLY!
And there is no reason to worry about a soon to be Supreme Court Justice that protects pedophiles. Move Along ……
Liberals said it was because if the first amendment.
Anything goes.
But now speech must be curtailed.
But not vice.
What’s a children? Half the time people like the Dame who are in positions such as “Childrens Commissioner” are themselves perverted beyond rational description.
In 20 years these kids will be the adults and you think they’re going to look back and think something is wrong?
Porn and Guns here since I was 14 and I’m still OK.
Maybe what they are really afraid is kids becoming Libertarians.
They already teach porn in school. What are they complaining about?
I was very, very certain as a child that I didn’t want to be taught (anything else) about sex. I was ridiculed by classmates, teachers (nuns and priests), and even my classmates’ parents because I resisted going to the (Walt-Disney-produced) film about sex. One of my classmates encouraged me to look at porn that her dad had hoarded in - was it 5th grade?
I’m not blaming them by the way, the teachers and everyone who ridiculed me, and those who encouraged me to view porn. I’m just saying look at the issue and try to sort it out. (This was a very long time ago, as you may have guessed, by the way.) Porn is really destructive.
but we can’t read books with porn at school board meetings that are in the school library. what a country.
The same people who want teachers to discuss perverted sex issues with kindergartners.
They are all over the dam map.
Right — they should be getting their porn from the public schools.
LOL!
Don’t be too surprised. More than 20 years ago I was walking my dog past a neighbor’s house in Denver. I glanced through the big picture window (curtains open) and saw a large TV screen with what was clearly a porn flick displayed.
On the floor watching the porn were little kids. This wasn’t the only time I had seen something weird in this place. I tried saying something to the cops. Haha, that didn’t work out well.
I’ve talked to people who I just casually met online who said their parents showed them porn as little kids so they would stay quiet. Not kidding and even though I wasn’t there, I believe them.
And yes, now porn is a part of public school curriculum.
Think about ending the DOE. #EndTheDOE
She must not have considered how strange her comparison must sound to parents who have given their children guns.
On cell phones children are watching porn. I recently heard testimony about girls and boys becoming addicted to it at age 11. It is serious and it is prevalent. I was in shock.

Those poor kids... That’s child abuse. Some people shouldn’t be parents.
Porn makes money off of trafficked girls. Men should not get off on the rape and abuse of young girls.
