It doesn't seem as if there is a public consciousness about what smart tech, internet of things, AI etc, coupled with evil will bring. Every detail of life will be monitored.

A satellite will track the number and source of the calories we consume. Sitting alone in a windowless locked room and saying a wrong word will have consequences.

Social credit scores and passing mandatory, social pop-quizzes will be deadly serious.

Totalitarians in the past could not conceive of the hell that will now be unleashed.

I’ve read down 27 posts and am trying to figure out whether this article is satire?

If you have visible license plates, you're being "noted" probably dozens of times per day, more if in an urban area.

I’d call it capitalism.
Of course if it’s as unpopular as it seems here on FR, I assume some of the 42 vehicle brands available in the US won’t do it.

—”manual roll-down windows”

At a toll gate on a sub-zero evening three hundred miles from home. The window went down, but would not go up.

Cardboard? hard to find and did not stay in place with a roll of duct tape.

“we did an audit and you should not have superboost or self driving mode” so we have removed those features from your car.

"And we froze your bank account for a week because we don't like your attitude."

Actually, it wasn't "We" - it was one of our faceless Tesla moderators who didn't like your attitude. Don't bother appealing.

People buy those? I have a Keurig. I pack my own reusable coffee pods. Best coffee ever. Make it as strong as I want and it's pennies per cup. Those one use pods are expensive!!!

And what’s with this “favourites”? If the vehicle was meant for American export, use our spelling.
