How did Mussolini lose power?
On July 25, 1943, Benito Mussolini, fascist dictator of Italy, is voted out of power by his own Grand Council and arrested upon leaving a meeting with King Vittorio Emanuele, who tells Il Duce that the war is lost.
How did Mussolini die?
On April 28, 1945, “Il Duce,” Benito Mussolini, and his mistress, Clara Petacci, are shot by Italian partisans who had captured the couple as they attempted to flee to Switzerland.
Can History Repeat Itself?

Russia does not have a royal head of state to act in the country’s best interests so the Il Duce analogy is a little weak.
Mussolini is definitely a better comparison, than either Hitler or Stalin - guess we’ll see what happens (although I’m sure the Deep State will keep pushing the “Putin=Hitler!” narrative ;>)...
The global oligarchs have developed a taste for being king-makers.
But depsiing established governments in places like Libya or the Ukraine may be a lot different than trying to mock up a phony “color revolution” in a nation the size of Russia.
Putin is wildly popular in Russia and has been for a long time - and for good reason. Just look at the poverty rate, crime statistics, etc etc in Russia in the 90s. Those all got steadily better since he came into office. His approval rating is currently in the range of 69-70%.
Nobody else is even close in Russia.
Is there an heir with ties to the Romanov’s still alive?
History can’t repeat. Putin’s mistress is already in Switzerland.
“Putin is wildly popular in Russia and has been for a long time -”
Joe Biden got 80 million votes.
Pretty impressive for a 5’6” twerp.
So let think for a minute
You get rid of Putin
You put in a “good” Russia leader by your requirements
That will Leave Ukranian (including Crimea) best find with NATO moving in to Ukranian..including Crimea
So that mean Russia loses in Black Sea Fleet bases and only warm water ports that it had for 300 years
Yea your Definition of being a good Russian leader is making Russia a bitch to the new world order just like they’ve made the United States a bitch to the new world order
There are several Romanov descendants who have claims to the Russian throne.
A good way to keep popularity is to bump off those you think will become more popular than you.
Men of Putin's stature are in *short* supply
If this plays out it’d be interesting to see how they try to broker power. Big if...
Did you forget to add your /sarcasm tag? 🙂
The problem is that Putin’s “Make Russia Great Again” policies are popular within Russia. The US & Globalist assumption that removing Putin ‘solves’ everything completely disregards a whole lot of Russian history and political realities of Russia.
One would expect that this invasion might reduce Putin’s popular approval, but the analogy might be with George W. Bush who still managed to eke out a win over Kerry in 2004 and now that we have a better idea of the extent of Democrat city voting fraud, that narrow win might have been more substantial too. In Russia, any voter fraud is probably more in Putin’s favor although an EU observer team assessed it as relatively minor and nowhere near the margin of victory.
So perhaps he drops from 70% approval closer to 50-55 per cent, that is not a career ending problem. If he drops below 45 per cent then other forces might take action. It all depends on the economic fallout, the failed invasion alone won’t bring him down.
Russians have been known to follow barbaric leaders from the terrible Ivan to the Communists. Why should now be different?
For the parallel to work, the allies will have to invade Russia and bomb Moscow.
