Welcome to the most dangerous two years in American history.
Nations change course slowly, like giant ocean liners. True disasters take a long time to unfold. If you think things look terrible now, you’re not using your imagination. The Biden Administration has only been in power for a little over a year. They got their crowbar in the door early with COVID, but we’ve barely tasted what the professional political class has in store for us.
Imagine gas at $10 a gallon, or $15. Imagine food staples so scarce you have to buy them with a ration card (displayed in a government-mandated phone app that tracks your family’s consumption). Imagine a new pandemic with a pathogen much deadlier than COVID, that actually kills a substantial number of the people it infects. Imagine an infrastructure attack that erases peoples’ bank accounts. Imagine a real, global war.
I’ve already written in support of Ukraine here, and I have been warning about the danger of a Russia-China alliance for a long time. But something about this Ukraine business rubs me the wrong way: All the people who updated their profile pictures with vaccination status to posture and to shame their friends have now updated their profile pictures again with Ukrainian flags. The mainstream media is in lockstep support. We’re bombarded with ridiculous stories about the “Ghost of Kiev” and Ukrainian farmers dismantling Russian tank columns. Last Friday, former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush visited a Ukrainian church together to lay flowers.
Something is definitely wrong here.
When we see the real establishment out in such force, it should set alarm bells off in our brains: We may not understand the nature of the lie, yet. But we can be certain they are lying to us.

Not a P365 by a long shot but I snagged a new Taurus G3C as a truck gun for $225 mostly for the wife who does most of the gallivanting. We live in a rural, secure area but far too much unexpected crap seems to be going on nowadays. Too dicey not to access everywhere. Damn shame.

The real story of Afghanistan - beyond FJB total failure of leadership and the significant if not permanent damage that has done to America’s defenses standing in the world and at home - is that the American people spent somewhere around a trillion $$$ (of printed devalued currency) and were lied to for 20 years that Afghanistan was being rebuilt successfully as a “new democratic nation” and it collapsed in a nanosecond, never standing on its own. And many of the same liars are now telling the American people that Ukraine needs to be defended from Russia aggression and war crimes of Putin etc.
They have put America in a very bad position with Ukraine because the liars in charge and their media demand the people believe them else be called treasonous ... Having liars in charge is very dangerous. If they are lying about Ukraine - America loses, and if they are telling the truth - America still loses. They need to resign for the sake of the nation.

While I expect the GOP to sweep Congress in the fall elections, I have little hope the swamp dwelling RINOs leading the party will do much to rescue our republic from the destruction Biden has caused. Sadly I am more convinced that only a revolution would be needed to restore the Constitution. I expect to soon see vigilantes harshly dealing with the criminals from which our emasculated police and corrupt criminal justice system can no longer protect us. I further expect states to ignore Biden’s executive orders and enforce laws on illegal immigration. Imagine if states required proof of citizenship for all welfare benefits, public schooling and all employment and started deportation themselves of any illegals within their borders.
I expect shortly that Biden’s dementia will lead to his forced resignation and Kamala to quickly be impeached and removed from the presidency. Let us hope that the revolution will be a velvet one and not reach the excesses of the French Revolution

Profoundly true. The new arrivals quickly get accustomed to all the perks, benefits, power and status of life in DC. Once they get there they never want to leave.
This phenomena actually afflicts members of both parties and used to be known as “Potomac Fever”.
That said, nowadays money is so important to campaigns that the party organs and K-Street have enormous influence on members. Once they get to DC their dependence on inflows of money converts politicians into pliable tools of the ubiquitous moneyed interests that infest the Swamp and who constantly demand favors in return for their financial support.
Such corruption is now permanently ingrained in the Washington culture which explains why so many well intentioned people get co-opted.
(No matter who we elect the system works tirelessly and insidiously to turn them into reliable Swamp supporters. Very few can resist the siren call of money.)
