I know members of Free Republic are Patriots of GRAND America. Is joining AARP a burden on Free Enterprise? I appreciate FREEPERS knowledged opinion, understanding.
AARP is a racket to push socialism and prey on seniors.
Had AARP once. Never again. Expensive and virtually no benefits I’d be interested in. As for their politics, listen to other posters who know more about it.
AMAC is excellent. They have everthing AARP has to offer without being AARP. You get an extra good price on PureTalk (cellphone service).
Honestly don't know.
Agree. . .I have
It is!!
Thanks.
I’m looking on their site now.
You’re giving money to an enemy lobby if you join in my humble opinion. I’ll not think less of you for joining them, but I imagine some here will. It’s a personal choice, and if their benefits to you outweigh the guilt of donating to the left, then do it.
We were members once and their magazine was a slurry of liberal progressive agendas. If they don't outright donate as a PAC they sure flex libinfluence muscle claiming to represent all seniors. Their most notable endorsement was obamacare.
AARP is a socialist organization that wants to put you on mediocre government run healthcare, and since you will complain about that, they want to take away your guns. If you like the idea of being a European peasant, join AARP.
How old do I have to be to join up with AMAC?
AARP also support abortion. Don’t use it.
I'm glad someone has gotten something out of it. I've had Medicare since 2006, which made my primary plan from New York State my secondary insurance. I've never had a problem with just plain-old Medicare. They paid fully for four abdominal surgeries I needed over a five year period. All I had was the co-pays for the surgeon's office visits. They've also covered all my other doctor visits, lab tests, and procedures like Colonoscopies and Endoscopies over the years. I have no Medicare supplemental. My State plan is who I have my prescription plan through. It's a Medicare approved plan, so I pay $5 or less for three month supplies of my meds. The State plan pays little or nothing on everything else. My co-pays for all medical treatments are always $25 or less, depending on what Medicare pays. I have no dental or vision care insurance as I lost it when I retired. Never felt the need to subscribe to it privately. I pay to have my teeth cleaned twice a year out of pocket, and pay for my own glasses when I need them, which isn't very often. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who hasn't needed any supplemental coverage in their old age.
Oh. Sweet. Thank you.
I’ll join up next payday.
AMAC is the Conservative Alternative. I haven’t found anything AARP has that is not available through AMAC, and the communications are much more to my liking, politically speaking.
AARP is not a burden on free enterprise, it’s a burden on YOU. It uses your money to oppose things that benefit you.
AARP is a socialist organization and promotes socialist causes.
My wife and I are members of AMAC. Join AMAC.
we used their “senior” benefit for motel rooms, etc. for some time, but don’t miss our membetship one bit...

A copy of your dd214 will get you the same benefit, also if you’re a seasoned citizen.
