The Eurythmics song “Sweet Dreams” created a nightmare for one Wheel of Fortune contestant on Tuesday. Chris Bryant was well on his way to solving a “song lyrics” puzzle when he mispronounced a word that was completely spelled out.
“Sweet dreams are made of this” was the correct answer, however Bryant pronounced the last word as “these.” While Bryant’s answer was technically incorrect, Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox does appear to pronounce it as “these.” In fact, it rhymes with the final word of the next verse, which is “seas.”
Until I hear Annie Lennox confirm herself that the lyrics are “Sweet dreams are made of THIS”, I will not believe it. Wheel of Fortune ain’t gonna make me think I’ve been hearing those lyrics wrong for almost 40 years. #sweetdreamsaremadeofTHESE pic.twitter.com/pGppkuABpx

Sweet dreams are made of "this?" I was today years old when I learned that "these" isn't the correct lyric. #WheelofFortune

The guy on #WheelOfFortune just said "Sweet Dreams are made of these" to solve the puzzle, and that's exactly what I said too. I could have swore it was "these"!

Today I learned it's "sweet dreams are made of this" not "these."
Anyone else questioning everything they know?#WheelOfFortune

I just think it’s kind of creepy to make fun of wheel of fortune contestants on social media
“This” is 4 letters. “These” is 5. The End.
True.
Plus the fact that she clearly says "this."
“There was the 20,000 Pyramid I liked”
Do you remember the William Shatner episode?
Not live but I’ve seen that clip a few times.
I liked Richard Dawson.
“I liked Richard Dawson.”
...So did I. “the kissing bandit”. That would’ve landed him in jail nowadays.
Plural things can be made of a singular thing. Windows are made of glass. Sidewalks are made of concrete. Leftists are made of ****.
I always thought she said cheese.
Are they whirled?
So, you like cheese?........................
“Terrible song maybe. Great singer, though, Annie rocks my socks.
Who am I to disagree?
Just saying. Petty reason to be making fun of WOF contestant.
He prob jumps to shut that song off if he hears it like I do
Annie with Hozier at the 57th grammys a few years back: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2h27te
Considering the Redding and Hendrix hated each other. Yeah, pretty sure he was making fun.
^THIS^
Not only that, but “this” was already displayed on the board.
Off topic a bit but I’ve always loved Wheel. Partially because Pat and Vanna are genuinely nice people. That “comic” that hosts Family Feud comes off as an a-hole.
I like Missionary Man.
Who am I to disagree?
Which then rhymes with the next verse:
I travel the world and the seven seas
What he did, was see what he has always believed that the word was, these, when if fact the word was always, this.
That's what happens when you are confident in your mind, and really do not read what is written. Lots of people do that actually. It's kind of like your mind doing an auto-complete function.
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something
The 2nd & 3rd verses rhyme, while the first and fourth do not rhyme.
In the following stanza, all four verses rhyme:
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused
We should replace “Tw” with “Sh”!
After all it is where everyone but Brandon, s...s!
