I’m old enough to remember 2 weeks ago when gas and groceries were way more expensive than at any point during the previous administration. Stop telling us it’s the war - we’re not that gullible.

Gasoline was up 60% before war was a twinkle in Putin’s eye.
Still, a good reminder why we need to be energy self sufficient. If prices rise better the money goes into US pockets putting American workers to work.

Cost of the oil: 72%
Refining: 7%
Taxes: 11%
Station: 7%
Transportation: 3%
These are the last numbers I could calculate. About 50% of the taxes are Federal. Out of the oil price, I have not found a good source on how much of that actually is cost for the oil company .
It’s always Supply and Demand.
IF Ukraine was an enormous oil-producing nation ...
and IF the war was cutting off all of the oil exports from Ukraine ...
THEN I could see shortages and prices increases resulting from the War.
But the prices are up because the US is no longer energy independent and no longer a big exporter of oil. It’s all Biden.

Because the democrats want it this way.
If we were energy independent, this conflict in the Ukraine would never have caused this kind of market reaction.
Gas prices going up this fast is gouging, plain and simple.
When oil drops, the cost savings has to *work its way through the system*, but when it’s going up, prices cannot be jacked up fast enough.
The BS is getting deeper by the minute on all fronts.
