Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Monday said the American people stand to benefit from having more electric vehicles on the road but failed to elaborate on how they could become more affordable.

Pick a few cities and beta test that progressive idea on those populations. If you get it right, go ahead. But the public won't go for that. Neither will industry. We are a 7 days a week 24 hours a day industrial workforce. Those jobs can't perform in that kind of mass transit environment. Shifts for workers are 12 hours and rotating.
These people are literally crazy.
The whole lot of them.
This makes as much sense as going to a Coke machine in the Whitehouse and its out of soda, so you send someone on staff to fly to Venezuela to buy you the Coke and fly it back to the Whitehouse to quench your thirst?! The gas station down the street from the Whitehouse has six packs of Cokes. Only government idiots would fly to Venezuela to get your $1.25 Coke. But that's their logic.
Hey Pete, catch an oral and anal STD of some sort. Show up at a press conference with lime green chancres all around your mouth.
We would need a plethora of new power plants set up immediately for these to even be remotely feasible just to supply the power. They won’t allow them to be built - indicating control over how much and where we travel is probably the end goal vs. cleaner running cars.
Then there is the issue with batteries and so-called “rare-earth” minerals in order to make them.
I do not get my car buying advice from a pervert.
Wait til they find out we’ll need to build a lot more nuclear plants to supply electricity for the New Green World. Or we can burn every living plant and tree for biomass. Maybe we can hook up the Sun and bring it closer to Earf? We need more global warming for all those solar panels, I guess
Cost savings?
You mean after having to sell off your firstborn to pay for the danged car?
I’m 64 now. I’ll probably die of old age before I realize any “savings.”
Dude, its CHESTFEEDING.
WEF “young leader”.
Explains why mayor of small Midwest city has been endlessly promoted by media.
Creative Accounting ?
Sure they are. 🙄 Can’t wait to reconfigure my house fuse box to “adapt”. I’m positive that comes cheap. And you do know that EV only works because of electricity, right? That means we need electricity and oil
OPEC doesn’t want to go out of business and is waiting for the right time to flood the market
Dear God, please have Putin nuke DC now.
I’m almost too old to remember the term ‘fuse box’ and I’m old. I anyone with a standard 240v box can do a charge just fine.
Lots of people drive evs. There are thousands of Teslas on the road in California. I have seen a few other brands and I like my electric Hyundai Kona. Just because the government likes them it doesn’t make them bad. 30000 miles and I haven’t had an oil change. Way fewer moving parts. Admittedly living in sunny CA we have the advantage of never having to drive in snow. I would not buy one if I lived in Minnesota.
NOTHING the FedGov has to “push” on people is ever a “cost savings”.
EVER.
