Did you custom order a Pink Audi EV 6 months ago? It would be amusing if the EVs were all in the same section on board. One lithium battery caught on fire, it spread to the others.

Even at $100,000 apiece, with 4000 vehicles, that’s $400,000,000.

There could have been $1 billion dollars worth of cars there.

Lithium battery fires can’t be controlled. Probably more dangerous than fuel tankers.

“when it sank yesterday”

I had to check the date on this article. It did not sink yesterday, March 5. It sunk March 1.

Old news.

It has gone to join the Bonhomme Richard. I told my wife they were just going to tow it around ‘till it sunk.

The Atlantic is reported to be about 10,000 feet deep at the wreck’s location.

Among the Lamborghini cars on the ship were some Aventador models. The V12-powered Aventador is Lamborghini’s most expensive regular production model, priced at over $US400,000 ($A548,000).

Looks like a fish that you would find on the bottom of the ocean. A very exspensive fish.

No Sweat! Raise the ship or the cars. Issue a scrap title to them then send them to the scrap yards in Missouri! They will straighten them, clean them, combine two or three cars to make one that works.

Then they will run them down into Arkansas and sell them through auto auctions without titles to buyers there.
For $45 you can then get a clean Arkansas title showing the car has never been wrecked or flooded and ONLY driven to church on Sundays by the salesman’s sweet little old grandmaw.

Guaranteed to run till you get it off the lot.

BAD NEWS: The cars sunk.

GOOD NEWS: Insurance covers the losses.

The dealerships will suffer in this economy.

Damn batteries are probably what started the fire! It only takes ONE lemon to spoil the entire lot.

Where are the outraged environMENTALists? Crickets!

Why load all that one 1 ship, why not 4 or 5 ships just in case something like this happens you don’t lose the entire load. Sounds like a friction fire to me.

I feel so sorry to see all those beautiful hi-tech cars burned up and sunk. Even more so my heart goes out to the poor unfortunate people who waited so long in anticipation and now will have to deal with the horrible disappointment and somehow manage to go on with life knowing that they will have to go through the entire process of ordering another $400,000 dollar car, never knowing for certain if they will ever even obtain it. Life is hard for some folks.
