Dr Brad Stanfield notes that metabolism goes into steep decline after about age 60. Simultaneously age related disease go straight up in the other direction.
He therefor surmises that supplements that improve metabolism have the best chance of improving defensive mechanisms against age related diseases.
His top five list consists of 1. NR nicotinamide riboside 2. Melatonin 3. Glutathione precurer L cysteine OR NAC 4. Glutathione precurser L serine (which converts to glycine) 5. Hyerleronic Acid.
He mentions that L carnitine may have a role in treating non alcholic fatty liver disease. (If you have a big gut--then likely you have a fatty liver.)
He also mentions sulpheraphane psyllium husk fisetin, metfomin, creatine.
He doesn't include vitamin c vitamin d, zinc, omega 3 because he believes he can get enough from diet.
As a knock on, he says that when these supplements are used in concert they significantly downgrade covid symptoms.
Have you checked out the hospitalization and death rates for high and low D Covid patients?
Vitamin A toxicity is rare, with deficits due to poor diet and malabsorption syndromes being more common.
They have antiviral properties. I used to get frequent colds, but my regimen at the start pretty ends the cold in a day or two.
“My understanding is that 60-90 ng/ml are optimal. Why do you say 75 ng/ml is the specific target. Is your point that that’s the average of 60 and 90?
I had my d3 levels tested recently they were 68 ng/ml. I have been taking 10iu per day.”
Slight misunderstanding. My two most recent D3 tests were 74 and 75 ng/ml. I would like to be at 90 ng/ml. I also take 10000 iu daily. The new D3 alt health understanding is that 60-90 ng/ml are optimal. The conventional levels that average Docs will recommend are BS
Even Centrum Silver has upped its D3 game to one or two thousand iu D3. I cannot find the exact number right now
At 10000 iu daily you should be taking K2 also. 2nd most important is taking a solid magnesium supplement. Magnesium Threonate is the ultimate. It is supposed to up your brain functioning. I just ordered some Threonate so I know the best deal. It is the one from Now Foods ($22) found at Amazon. Magnesium glycinate is what I will still be using. There are lots on the market. The best is probably Now Foods magnesium bisglycinate. It has less magnesium per volume but is more absorbable due to having 2 glycinate molecules

Magnesium supplements must be taken with water or juice. BUT what I do is pop some of the Now bisglycinate powder in my mouth and hold for 5-10 minutes to hydrate it
Read the reviews at Amazon for Kala MSM and Jarrow MSM. Their MSM is an enhanced kind made in Oregon that is called OptiMSM
THE BEST!!! >>> https://optimsm.com/
All MSMs are great for your joints and are very fine anti-inflammatories. Must be taken with Vitamin C. The “C” I like is magnesium ascorbate powder by Now Foods (at Amazon etc)
Always buy and take bulk powders if you can. Capsules and tablets are ridiculous and more expensive.
No kidding. I was thinking of MIRACLE FLUSH...lol
“I know to take take your D3 + K2. Why cod liver oil?
How much k2 do you take with 10iu of D3?”
One K2 capsule daily with 10000 iu of D3
K2 and D3 are oil and fat soluble. So if taken together by themselves, eat them with a teaspoon of any kind of oil. But I like cod liver oil bcause it has D3 in it plus I believe it works synergistically with D3 gelcaps that you swallow.
But on YouTube the D3 gurus simply say -—>> That for max absorption, take your D3 and K2 with a meal that has veg or animal fats in it. I have nothing against this
Sorry. I meant 18,000 iu daily. But there are some who take 50000 iu daily for a while. And good going on your cancer! You are taking an impressive amount of D3 daily! Take it with K2 and magnesium supplement such as mag glycinate.
Ultimate magnesium is the magnesium Threonate.
No kidding. I was thinking of MIRACLE FLUSH...lol
My personal experience is that your statement is FALSE.
A few years back I severely twisted my knee. Physical therapy got it moving, but there was still pain and noise. I saw collagen at Costco, somehow remembering it’s good for joints, and knowing I could return it. My research showed there are multiple types of collagen with type I only in many supplements, but the Costco product had type II which is good for cartilage and joints. It worked. I’ve continued to use it this day.
My wife started and has improved skin. It should be noted we don’t eat many meat products and take 2 or 3 per day rather than the 6 pill daily dose. I’ve recently added bone broth which is high in collagen.
Dr.. David Sinclair >>>> He was on the Joe Rogan YouTube show twice for two+ hours before Rogan went to Spotify.
Glad I saved them somewhere, because now it seems you must dig them up at Spotify
But I see other extended Sinclair interviews on YouTube. And now he has his own YouTube channel.
by high C, I meant high dosage.
pardon the confusion.

L-argenine increases blood flow
I only eat meat & drink water.
I take no supplements.
I’ve been living this way for 1327 days.
My health is phenomenal & I experience effortless daily happiness every day of my life!
Friday bump
how much vitamin c do you take?
Always buy and take bulk powders if you can. Capsules and tablets are ridiculous and more expensive.
where can you go to get bulk powders for all supplements?
Then how do you pack them into pills. How do you roll your own pills.
I’m thinking that a lot of pills are liquid jells.
Normally, 1000 mg/day
During this 120 day cardio vascular cholesterol cleanse protocol...
500mg C
500mg l-lysine
200mg l-proline
...comprised of two tabs @ three times/day
...this is on top of normal daily
The product is HEART PLUS, from Cell Nutritionals
Vitamin C flushes out of the body rapidly, so the cleanse is dosed to maintain high levels in the bloodstream throughout the day for the cleansing to be effective.
You are a good ol' spud, and and an equally old FR hand, which I did not realize while spouting off to you.
I always drop into your posts...who can resist the contribution of a gun dog?
At any rate I didn't get the reference to the precious Portlanders, thus needlessly threw a pebble or two your way which I wish I might call back.
All best to you and thanks for your kindness...

Collagen breaks down in your stomach. It never makes the blood stream or into your system. Well known science(somewhat.)
