Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services:
Public and Environmental Health officials are working to contain local cases of the gastrointestinal illness Shigella bacteria, after three lab-confirmed cases and two more suspected cases infected Eureka residents during the past month.
The cases span multiple households, infecting school-age children and adults, including a person experiencing homelessness.
Officials believe the virus may have been spread through one or more Eureka laundromats, after an infected person washed contaminated clothing at the facility.

Open borders...
Diversity, f*** yeah!
It’s the antibiotic-resistant tuberculosis that’s going to be the most fun.
Never heard of it before today. Description makes it sound like common stomach or intestinal flu. Could get serious but mostly just another flu. I think we are exposed to these things all the time and only because of DNA testing can we actually distinguish between different specific viruses. But a scary name does make for better headlines.
Either that or my ex got a job cooking up there.
“Officials believe the virus may have been spread...”
Not a virus.
Antibody resistant leprosy was created by a homosexual undergoing AIDES treatment more than 30 years ago. Somehow they prevented it from spreading.
The problem with leprosy is that it can take up to 20 years for symptoms to appear, it could spread far and wide before it is discovered in the population. That would panic people.
Shigella - almost sounds Yiddish “I’ma gonna give ya such a shigella when you get home your head will ring for a week”
kinda has sounds like a name for a ghettopotomus...
That too.
Shigella is bacterial, not viral.
This is what passes for due diligence by the media.
You are correct, my mistake.
No problem. The media report call it viral in the article. They are busy spreading misinformation. As always.
Shigella ain’t got no flagella.
In pure misery it’s a step up from Salmonella. And that’s saying something.
Figella
Hassenfus Incorporated!
It is awful. I got it as a teen during a summer mission trip to a third world country.
I lost a good 20 lbs before I got back to the states and got treatment. I have never been so sick in my life.
