A fast-food restaurant employee survived being shot in the face after twin sisters assaulted him over an alleged missing hamburger.
Anthony Rodriguez, a 26-year-old single father, was working at the Wauwatosa, WI George Webb restaurant on January 30 when an argument broke out over the specifics of an order, Fox 6 reported. Rodriguez, who was not scheduled to work that day, was working the third shift around midnight in the 24-hour restaurant when four women grew confused and frustrated with their order.
An argument ensued between Rodriguez, another employee, and the women, two of whom have been identified as Breanta and Bryanna Johnson, 20-year-old twin sisters, according to the Daily Mail. The customers complained that there was a $3 hamburger missing from their order.
When the customers said they weren’t going to pay, Rodriguez discarded the entire order and said, “OK, I’m going to take your food since you’re not paying for it,” before asking them to leave.

Surveillance footage and witness statements detailed how Breanta Johnson began to punch Rodriguez before wrestling him to the ground. “I was getting punched in the head by one of them…and then they tried to body slam me,” Rodriguez recounted.
Bryanna Johnson continued the attack, and Breanta is reported to have exited the building to retrieve a handgun that she gave to her sister. Rodriguez went on to say, “as soon as I got slammed on the ground, I heard a bang. That’s when I got shot.”
“I never expected to get shot being a server,” Rodriguez told WISN. “The bullet went through my upper lip and took out my upper teeth and cracked my bottom teeth. Those will have to be replaced. There’s still big fragments in my throat from the bullet.”
“I was in so much shock,” Rodriguez explained, “I don’t remember being in much pain, but I remember kind of internally freaking out and being very scared just telling myself, ‘Wow, I’m probably gonna die here.'”
Wauwatosa Police released a statement to the press on February 3 with an update on the shooting. After their initial investigation, they reported that two search warrants were issued resulting in the apprehension of four suspects and additional evidence. They further went on to state that there was additional information that they could not provide due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. However, they did state that the case was being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
The sisters are said to have confirmed the events as described after questioning from detectives. For her part, Breanta claimed that she “blacked out” during the fight and has no recollection of retrieving the gun or giving it to her sister.
Rodriguez is still recovering and told Fox 6 that his current goal is to get strong enough to hold his soon-to-be 3-year-old son again. “The healing I’ve done so far has been incredible. Just a week ago,” he said, “I couldn’t even speak.”
“It scares the hell out of me how people can get so quick to anger…for just the smallest things,” Rodriguez remarked. “I’m just lucky to be alive, and…It gives me a fresh perspective.”
“We’ve got to find ways to compromise and be more peaceful and sometimes that means just saying ‘I got to walk away,'” Rodriguez added.
The Johnson sisters are being held in jail with bail set at $100,000 each. They face up to 65 years in prison for the incident. A GoFundMe has been set up for Rodriguez to cover hospital costs and living expenses while he remains unable to return to work.
