Out of nowhere he comes up with an 11 point plan. This is 9 months before November. Sounds like another Contract With America that everyone will follow. As I remember the 1994 contract was revealed in late September after much anticipation. It confined the campaign to 6 weeks and turned the rats into drama queens. This may be a peak-too-early idea that could fade. What's in it for him going alone?
I’ve not looked at this yet but about time someone comes up with a true platform other than “Trump or die.” Maybe this one is good, or maybe it’s not, but positions need to be staked for all voters to see.
Before you crucify me, understand I like Trump a lot but his first term proved no one man can do it alone.
You got it Lucky. Then there are the way-too-many button pushing posts. Some black low-life shooting an innocent white delivering pizzas. It’s out there but real discussion should be encouraged more by the moderators. That would be censorship. We then become guilty of lowering ourselves to the lowest common denominator. Just look at Facebook.
I can’t put my finger on it but I just have never trusted Rick Scott. There’s a certain creep factor about the guy.
Is this the guy who auctioned off his daughters the night he was elected?
True.
Scott has been a huge disappointment.
Since it will either be ignored or attacked by the enemedia, it will take additional time for knowledge and understanding of the proposal to get to most of the public.
To a degree, you could say the same about Jeb, but on the national stage?
Scott approved in-state tuition for illegals.
According to the Daily Mail article yesterday, "The agenda includes a mix of classic Republican priorities - shrinking the federal government and enacting national voter ID laws - and culture war measures, such as declaring that there are 'two genders,' completing the border wall and naming it after Donald Trump and limiting most federal workers, including members of Congress, to 12 years of service".
Sounds pretty MAGA to me.
Talk is cheap.
Raising taxes is the dumbest thing that could be done right now. Saying it before the midterms is really stupid!
He’s mostly good. Definitely more than lip service. Not solid on all issues. He did a great job steering Florida towards a fully red state. He did some fry things on guns after Parkland but not a total sellout. Better than Rubio in reliability.
Oh really? Let's look at a couple:
No government assistance unless you are disabled or aggressively seeking work. If you can work, but refuse to work, you cannot live o of the hard work and sweat of your fellow Americans.
So what are we saying? Send up all the children currently on SNAP or other forms of assistance and put them in a workhouse and get equivalent labor from them?
We will balance the federal budget.
Begin by presenting us with the Senator Scott 2023 balanced budgt.
Enact term limits for the Washington ruling class – 12-year limits for Congress and government bureaucrats.
Term limits are unconstitutional.
Government will not ask American citizens to disclose their race, ethnicity, or skin color on any government form.
Isn't that the very purpose of the census?
We will force prosecutors to prosecute. At present, many prosecutors in big cities are allowing criminals to go free with no justice, and they are doing it on purpose.
Isn't that a state and local matter and not a federal one? Isn't that the very definition of the census?
Well, you asked how he stands. All we have to go on is what he allegedly said. He did not reveal any ulterior motives. At least he seems to be publicly supporting MAGA and not distancing himself from it.
Needs further research, but that sounds very sound. Glad to see someone taking the lead on putting forward a specific agenda and platform.
Anyone who has served in Washington is suspect until proven otherwise.
There is no room for partial sellouts. The only way you get excellence in life is to require excellence. You need to do this at work, raising children, and electing politicians. Anything less is not excellence. Most of the time excellence is simply a matter of focusing on the right things and completely ignoring the rest. Those things are clearly defined in conservative politics. As you put it, Scott "did some fry things on guns". He wasn't focusing on the right things and went out of his way to do something verboten. He doesn't get the "shall not" of the 2nd Amendment. Following the 2nd Amendment requires zero effort, unless you are eliminating all laws associated with weapons.
His plan is 31 pages-too much information.
Me thinks it will be pared down by September. Too many overlapping points subject to discussion before a simpler one comes out. that gets everyone on the same page. It would be interesting if ONE or more democrat candidates agreed to go along. Populism doesn’t mean ideological.
