I increasingly think that “police” should be guys in neat uniforms handing out tickets for infractions against local ordinances. Minor stuff. Local revenue streams. That’s a decent job for the police.
SWAT teams? Body armor? High powered weaponry? Shields? OK. We’re into jack-booted thug territory and ALL of those people are guilty of crimes against We The People. This should have been nipped in the bud decades ago. I see no good reason for any of it.
