Duke doctors testing whether more ivermectin for twice as long will work against COVID-19

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - Researchers at Duke want to know if taking more ivermectin for longer will work better as a COVID-19 treatment.

A study that is testing three repurposed medications as COVID treatments is expanding to evaluate the polarizing anti-parasitic drug ivermectin at a higher dose for a longer period of time.

Dr. Adrian Hernandez, the executive director of the Duke Clinical Research Institute and the study’s administrative principal investigator, said modeling studies, published research and community interest “support investigating multiple doses and durations of ivermectin.”

“This expansion will provide valuable data on the role of ivermectin and whether it can help people with mild-to-moderate symptoms of COVID-19 prevent worsening of the disease,” he said.

Hernandez and other researchers at Duke are leading the national ACTIV-6 study that is testing how effective ivermectin and two other common drugs are against mild to moderate cases of COVID.

They are increasing the size of the dose by 50 percent and doubling the length of time, from three days to six.

The new dose - 600 micrograms per kilogram of body weight - is four times as much as the usual dose for treating river blindness in teenagers and adults, and three times the usual dose for a type of roundworm infection, according to the Mayo Clinic.

According to Dr Zelenko, it can be taken with HCQ. MUST be taken with zinc.

There are plenty of studies that show that ivermectin is effective against COVID-19, and no, it’s not required to take zinc with it.

It may have had nothing to do with it. I simply felt a lot better after taking it. Will take it again if I get c-19 again, as it is safer than tylenol. Although it may be unlikely I get it again since natural immunity is way better than the practically useless at this point - all risk - little benefit injections.

You need to take it with zinc to kill the virus.

No, you don’t. That’s flatly untrue.

We’ve cured nearly 20 people using IVM and zinc. The Frontline doctors are who we follow.

Obviously prescribe whatever you wish in your practice, but be aware that there are plenty of studies which show that zinc is not required. Ivermectin is effective on its own in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

"And if the results don’t support the treatment will that end it? No. Some around here won’t trust anything that doesn’t support their opinions."

And yet, that theory seems to be perfectly acceptable to the VaxNazis when it comes to the non-approved, experimental, DNA-altering clot shots.

When I first showed symptoms of COVID-19, a few days after my wife tested positive and had her symptoms, I took .6 mg/kg (600mcg/kg) of Ivermectin.

I only had the most mild symptoms and a fever of 100.4-100.7.

It was all over within a day and a half, when my temperature was 97.2 when I woke up.

Of course, I took zinc and some supplements listed in hundreds of studies at c19early.com and followed the FLCCC guidance.

Do note my wife followed much the same, but she had to visit a doctor on her eighth or ninth day, for help. Her fever had gone away for nearly two days, then it started back up in the 100 degree range and on that eighth day, it went up an additional degree the whole day. She got decadron (methylprednisone could work, too) an albuterol inhaler, and azithromycin. These brought her temperature below normal about three days later. She only used the inhaler twice, used up all the azithromycin, and took the decadron eight of the ten days of her prescription.

Do note you or your loved one may not succeed completely without visiting a doctor for similar medicines.

Be alert and be cautious.
