If you call the complaint line, they'll tape your conversation.
If Jesus wouldn’t say it then it’s wrong. Also, if you wouldn’t say it to the dead man’s family then it’s wrong. WWJD. The original poster had Jesus all over his home page.
A lot people on FR act a lot more like dimocrats than conservatives.
Jesus wouldn’t say it because it sounds callous. Not because it’s untrue. Just because you can say something doesn’t mean you should. But don’t conflate truth with civility.
Was his name Alex Kintner?
I’m pretty sure that one is the opposite. Zooming out while moving closer.
They do both.
I think it’s cool as well.
I wonder who first came up with it?
I’ll try to look it up, but I don’t know what they call it.
Found this.
A dolly zoom is an in-camera effect where you dolly towards or away from a subject while zooming in the opposite direction. Also known as a zolly, this shot creates a sense of unease in the viewer, simulates a spatial warp, and can either shrink or extend distances based on the choice of direction.
This shot is commonly referred to as a vertigo shot, or vertigo effect thanks to Alfred Hitchcock’s film Vertigo, which used the shot multiple times and to great effect.
Who implied that it wasn’t wrong because it was true. Not me. That was you. It’s wrong, period. A shark eats is not a truth. It is simply a fact. There is a difference.
Lighten up. You don’t know a person’s heart. You can make jokes or comments about things detached from the sympathy you also feel for the actual victim.
One of Jim Robs main rules, on the front page is “be nice”. That is not not nice. It’s hurtful and callous.
"Who implied that it wasn’t wrong because it was true. Not me."
Yes, you.
Really!? A man lost his life and you are justifying being a jerky dimocrat. Get over it.
Jesus would not approve of what you said. It was callous and wrong.

If he had said that to the victim’s friends and/or family I would certainly agree with you. But he didn’t, and nothing he or anyone else says about it is going to change a damn thing. It is what it is, no more, no less!
Bwahahahaha, hilarious!
The shark should have dragged the swimmer to Planned Parenthood and done it in private.
if one is going to take video, they should take video...as in keep the camera pointed in the right direction.
I recognized it as being used by Hitchcock, but I didn’t know if he was the first.
Classic photo.
“If he had said that to the victim’s friends and/or family I would certainly agree with you. But he didn’t, and nothing he or anyone else says about it is going to change a damn thing. It is what it is, no more, no less!”
So it’s wrong to say that to the victims friends or family. Why? Because it would be hurtful and insulting and ultimately unnecessary. If it is wrong to hurt and insult the family and friends needlessly then how is it OK to offend people who sympathize with the victim and the family?
Swimming in the ocean for recreation is a very recent phenomenon. For the great bulk of human existence we knew it was foolish and the sea unforgiving.
The coroner will probably say he did…
