Not bad for someone who started as a Runaway Apprentice and Walked From Missouri to Taos at the age of 15.
Captain Jack is quite well-known locally. They have this named for him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Jack%27s_Stronghold
No, the Modoc leader.
I hadn’t heard of the Billy Joel version. But then I was a full time grain and livestock farmer by mid 75. Listening to music only happened occasionally, and then it was AM. I had FM on my home stereo but was usually gone in the evenings, going to my buddy’s gearhead garage, or looking for the right girl.
When Billy Joel’s “I love you just the way you are” came out I had a Corvette which had FM. The timing was perfect, for I had just met the right girl.
I was almost to her house one night, to pick her up for a date, when that song came on. It spoke to how I felt about her (and still do), so I drove around the block first so I could listen to it again (for probably the 100th time, lol).
They need a black man, huh? Okay. How about Ben Carson Park?
Who cares? He was a great man by absolutely any measure.
Yep, the wife and I have been there (summer 05 visiting her bro in Alturas). Very interesting history. While there, I recalled reading about him in high school.
Pretty sure there were Indians who could threaten the US Army after the 1860s, when Carson fought the Navajo. But I agree. Carson fought smart and without needless killing to the extent possible. He was a hero who deserves to be admired on the whole of his life and not judged by city people who have no clue about what Indian attacks in the 1800s meant.
Whatever happens — and it could very well happen — you can bet that Sissy-lick will do whatever Newsom-the-Vile tells him he must do.
Yeah, the progs living in the USA need to go to Europe, homeland of their god, Karl Marx. Maybe have pilgrimages there, feel the bond, and never come back here.
That’s great marketing.
We could open up MarxLand in Belarus or Moldova. Would have different sections: Gulagland, where you can dress up in rags, work yourself to death; Asylumland, a small version of a mental hospital where dissidents are exiled; LubyankaLand where you can watch animatrons murdering Kulaks; the possibilities are endless!
They’ll luv it so much, we wont have to make them stay....
Sad.
ditto, that’s what I said too.
Just wait until the activists discover that Carson City, the capital of Nevada, isn’t named after Johnny.
“ He owned slaves, both black and Navajo..............”
So did blacks and Navajos will they be canceled too 🤪
I’m sure they would be happier with George Armstrong Custer Park 🤪
Meh. The Klamath Indians traded in slaves.
I told then to name it the Robert E. Lee Memorial Park. The reason I gave was he was an officer in the army that have the US their state by beating the Mexicans.
I hope they choke to death when they read that.
PC Woke CRT SOBs.
Bet they are all white DemocRats.
The reason I gave was he was an officer in the army that have the US their state by beating the Mexicans.
**********
Yep they may choke trying to figure that out.
On the other hand they may not give a damn.
I gave them hell to the best of my ability.
