The City Council of the City of Klamath Falls has directed the Parks Advisory Board to move forward with the renaming of Kit Carson Park process. The Council has tasked the Parks Advisory Board with soliciting feedback from the community on potential new names for the Park.

Kit Carson and John Fremont were early explorers of Northern California and Southern Oregon. They mapped and documented the area and were influential throughout the west in the 1850s. The local city park bearing the name of Kit Carson must have its name changed due to rumors of some inappropriate (by today's standards) behavior. The City of Klamath Falls (Oregon) needs some inoffensive perfectly-politically-correct suggestions for new names.

Ironic as hell. Carson beat the Navajo, the last major Indian army that could threaten the US Army, not by killing them, but by killing their horses, which he stated that to pacify the Navajo, I can either kill every Navajo male, or every Navajo horse. I choose the horses.

So in a manner of speaking, Carson was the *savior* of the Navajo.

This being said, some wit should propose John Milton Chivington as replacement.
